We had a pleasure of interviewing Zang Toi World renowned fashion designer from Malaysia, about his intergalactic inspiration for Fashion Week and his line called, F2026 Grand Galactic Galaxy Collection.
He went on to tell us he was inspired by Elon Musk’s Spacex project, with rockets and all the creations and excitement and he decided to create F2026 Grand Galactic Galaxy Collection, using the finest leathers, materials imported throughout the world.
He went on to say, yes the materials are expensive alongside the craftsmanship of putting an outfit of this magnitude.
Of course, not everyone can afford a piece like this, only the 1% of people with a hefty bank account can afford this kind of outfit. They have no problem paying for it, because they understand and appreciate the materials and the work that goes into making it, into a high luxury outfit.
The veteran designer unveiled his Fall/Winter 2026 couture line inside Manhattan’s Park Avenue Christian Church, drawing inspiration from jet-set glamour.
The collection, titled “Grand Galactic Galaxy Collection,” drew inspiration from the glamour of international jet setters arriving in “grand style aboard the newly relaunched luxury train.” Toi envisioned a dramatic entrance: polished travelers stepping onto the platform in sweeping coats, sculpted gowns and high-shine evening wear designed to evoke old-world elegance with a modern finish. Toi tells Los Angeles that his inspiration came from, “Elon Musk Space X Starship.”
He started researching, and playfully said that one day “everyone will be dressed and ready to go to the moon” in his new collection.
Standout looks were sharply tailored black cashmere lapel coats, body-skimming black velvet stretch dresses and metallic skirts in what Toi described as a “French galaxy blue.”
Accessories and structured silhouettes further emphasized the couture-level craftsmanship that has defined Toi’s label for decades.
Over the years, Toi’s designs have appeared in major publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Time, Newsweek, The New York Times and the Financial Times. His client list spans Hollywood and high society, with celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Farrah Fawcett, Patti LaBelle, Eva Longoria and Heather Graham wearing his creations, along with philanthropists and members of royalty, including Melinda Gates and Saudi Princess Haifa Bandar Al Saud.
