Javits Center marks 40 years with new brand identity & “Javits on the Hudson” campaign-2026

Rebrand positions New York’s convention campus as a premier waterfront destination for Global events, innovation and culture.

The New York Convention Center Operating Corporation (NYCCOC), which operates Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, unveiled a new brand identity today as it celebrates its 40th anniversary – marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of New York’s premier convention campus.

Transformation into a dynamic waterfront destination and reinforces its role as a global hub for Commerce, culture and community in New York City.

“As we celebrate 40 years of impact, we are honoring the extraordinary legacy of Javits Center while embracing a bold new chapter for our future,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Joyce Leveston.

“For four decades, Javits Center has helped shape New York’s economic and cultural landscape. ‘Javits on the Hudson’ connects our legacy to the energy of our waterfront location and the extraordinary possibilities ahead.”

Situated along the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West Side, Javits Center has evolved dramatically since

Opening in 1986. Today, the six-block campus anchors one of New York City’s fastest-growing districts.

Neighboring Hudson Yards and serving as a gateway for major global events, conventions and cultural Gatherings.

40th Annual Celebration

The new brand identity reflects this transformation, linking the Center’s iconic architecture, Waterfront setting and sustainability leadership with the forward momentum of New York City itself.

At the center of the refreshed brand system is the iconic Gold Apple, a symbol long associated with Javits Center and its connection to New York.

The refined mark anchors that legacy while introducing a modern visual Language inspired by the Hudson River, the building’s distinctive glass façade and the movement of people and ideas that define the campus.

The new visual system incorporates colors drawn from Javits Center’s environment and mission, including tones inspired by the Hudson River, the Center’s rooftop green spaces and its architectural materials.

Graphic elements referencing the building’s bird-friendly glass and waterfront setting further reinforce the identity’s connection to place.

Beyond visual changes, the rebrand reflects Javits Center’s continued evolution as a civic and economic engine for New York. The campus now serves as a hub where industries gather, ideas launch and communities connect.

Remarks were made by Joyce Leveston, how proud she was of being the President and CEO of Javits Center, and being the first African-American Woman to hold this title and shatter the ceiling.

Mrs. Leveston went on to say, we have over 130 Events annually and millions of people who come and attend from all over the world. She went on to say, she is so proud of the hundreds of staff members who run the Javits, center, from the Electricians, Carpenters, construction workers, who turn the place into an event space within a day or two.

To the staff that handles payroll, to the catering people, security and many more how work at the Javits Center, who are the backbone for the success of being in business for 40 years.

Governor Hochul, Made remarks and thanked:  Lee Perlman, Chairman of NYCCOC and all the Javits center workers, for making Javits center, the events capital of the World.

Governor Hochul also presented a Proclamation to Joy Javits, one of the daughters of Jacob Javits, and went on to say, Senator Javits was one of the greatest politicians we had, a compassionate soul, who helped people and served 4 terms as a senator and tried for 5th term, which he did not win because of declining health. It is a great tribute to have the Center named after Senator Jacob Javits, and having a statue erected in the lobby, where everyone can see him, when they walk through the doors.

Many VIP people were in attendance, including the president of the New York International Auto Show is Mark Schienberg, Quenia Abreu, President NY Women’s Chamber of Commerce, who was also a board member of Javits Center, and was instrumental in getting President and Chief Executive Officer Joyce Leveston, elected to her postion.

I was very impressed with Orlando Alvarez, from Colombia, living in Queens who was the longest worker in catering, for 36 years. Mr Alvarez was honored through a video tribute for his long service to Javits Center, I have also known, Mr Alvarez for over 25 years. Congrats to him and I wish him another 35 years.

The 40th annual celebration took place at North hall, which was transformed to a great celebration, place. Over 20 food stations, desserts, bars and so much more. High level entertainment.

I have been attending New York Javits Center, for approximately 26 years, I started of with Liberty News Online Magazine, where we covered many events for our diverse audience, and twenty years ago, we started World Liberty TV, an Online TV with a Multi-cultural understanding.

We have many channels which we showcase some of the biggest shows to our audiences, we have covered NRF, Beauty Show, Fanatic Fest, NY Comic Con, NY Auto Show, NY Now, Conferences, Summits many technology events and so so much more.

I am much honored that Javits Center has gave us the opportunity to show all these great events to our audience on World Liberty TV. To me Javits Center is the events capital of the world, I have attended many events spaces in USA, and   throughout the World. None of these spaces offer the energy, excitement, diversity and audience from all corners of the world.
