Brooklyn Fashion Week, Design Of The Times

Fashion Week Brooklyn (FWB) is a bi-annual international collection show founded
by the 501c3 non-profit, the BK Style Foundation (BSF). FWB has emerged as one
of the leading fashion events showcasing the talent of aspiring and established
designers from across the globe. Attendees include a diverse spectrum of socially
conscious, influential, fashion-forward men and women.

Established in 2006, BSF, has devoted each season of FWB to support charitable
organizations including the (Soles4Souls Foundation, MTV Staying Alive Founda-
tion and Build A Better Planet). BSF lends a voice to social issues including human
rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, eco-friendly initiatives, poverty, community develop-
ment and leadership training.

FWB offers a marketing partnership platform for select companies to build their
brand, align with noted philanthropic organizations and connect with a distinct
targeted audience.

On March 4, 2014, Brooklyn Borough President formally endorsed Fashion Week
Brooklyn as the official Fashion Week of the borough..
Recognized as Brooklyn’s premiere fashion event, Adams’ vast philanthropic ef-
forts and passion for Brooklyn, ensures that the—fashion and cultural arts commu-
nities will continue to flourish. BSF is excited to begin a new creative journey with
the Brooklyn Tourism Authority under Adams’ vision and leadership.

American Red Cross Gala: Heroes Among Us at the American Museum of Natural History-2017

Wednesday, October 11, 2017, the American Red Cross in Greater New York  hosted  its 2017 American Red Cross Gala: Heroes Among Us at the American Museum of Natural History.

Wells Fargo will received the Corporate Leadership Award for their long-standing commitment to the Red Cross through financial donations and volunteering. Ronald S. Lauder and Family and Leonard A. Lauder and Family will receive the American Red Cross Humanitarian Award for their on-going commitment to humanitarian relief and support of the most recent Red Cross Hurricane recovery efforts.

The American Red Cross National Hero Award was presented to Dr. Annie Sparrow, Critical Care Pediatrician and Public Health Expert; Dr. Zaher Sahloul, Critical Care Physician and Founder of the American Relief Coalition for Syria; and Dr. Mohamad Bader Eddin Aljarah, Director of Health for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. The three doctors were recognized for their courage and commitment to providing medical relief and alleviating human suffering in war-torn regions.

The American Red Cross Local Hero Award was presented to Staten Island resident, Delroy Lewis for saving the lives of two young children and their neighbors by pulling them out of a burning building.

Misunderstood Youth Development Center: Save Our Youth Benefit Night – 2013

The Misunderstood Youth Development Center (MYDC) is a 501(c)3 youth non-profit organization founded in 2005 in the State of New York by Terryl Ebony De Mendonca. MYDC is a prevention/intervention service center for youth ages 8-24.

MYDC is recognized for its unique program model that weds direct services and policy advocacy to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth. Unlike other service organizations, which focus mainly on prevention and activities, MYDC distinguishes itself by focusing on prevention and intervention. This encourages social development behavior modification and consequential thinking techniques.
These techniques allow the youth to use their imagination to create a better foundation for their future. The strength of our intervention is the depth of the engagement we have with each youth.

MYDC’s intentions for all of its programs is to further its charitable purpose of helping to understand, develop, and stimulate the minds of our youth. MYDC’s staff and volunteers devote 100% of their human resources to planning and supporting its programs.
World Liberty TV’s staff was on hand at the MYDC Save Our Youth Benefit Night, where youths, organizers, and politicians were honored for their contribution to the Misunderstood Youth Development Center (MYDC).
