Kali Works  : We are an exclusively collaborative operation, especially given our small scale. We work with artists and makers from all over Africa (and in the diaspora) for our collections. We have had products designed and made in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, DR Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, Botswana, South Africa, and many more in our short history.

Because we’re a culture-forward brand, we emphasize this in how we make our products. We strive—as much as possible—to have our products sourced in the country of cultural origin. UNBELTS: We make belts – really, really comfortable belts that fit your body exactly as you are today, and exactly how you might be in a few months’ or years’ time.

Why? Because we’re perfectionists who expect better from our clothes. Our jeans don’t fit, but regular belts aren’t good enough. They’re bulky and stiff. They show us what size we used to be. Also, unthreading a leather belt to do laundry or go through airport security is annoying as h-e-double-hockey-sticks. Making someone’s day is sometimes as easy as solving their littlest problem. Minky Couture: Minky Couture started in 2009 when owner, Sandi Hendry’s daughter became very ill and was hospitalized for several months. During this time, Sandi longed for a way to bring comfort to her daughter while in recovery. Her daughter asked for a “big baby blanket” to snuggle up with during this time. Sandi looked everywhere for a fashionable, cozy blanket but was unable to find one perfect for her daughter. It was at this time that Sandi created the first-ever Adult size Minky Couture blanket. This incredibly soft blanket was swooned over by those surrounding her daughter in recovery. Sandi created 2 more, 10 more, 100 more per requests – giving them to those in need and selling them out of her trunk to people longing for luxurious comfort.

By 2015 there were five Minky Couture locations across the state of Utah and a thriving online store, all prepared to provide a product that is perfect for every reason in any season. ZACHI Chocolates:  Melissa is the founder of ZACHI and comes from the country that has been recognized for producing the best cacao in the world, Ecuador. She recalls growing up in Ecuador and the happy moments spent on her family’s farm when her grandparents cultivated and harvested cacao as the primary family business, a tradition that her family carries on to this day.
