Designer Aslam Hussein did not require any introduction among the fashion buffs. Aslam has nurtured a unique and incomparable style of his own and combined this with a contemporary flair to create and select stunning outfits. He has an intrinsic eye for fashion and all things beautiful. He has also made a name in the competitive world of haute couture.
Aslam is renowned among the fashion circles for creating and introducing couture that speaks straight to our hearts and has the magical power to effortlessly transform you to look your best. He makes you feel like you have just stepped out of a Bollywood motion picture- filled with glamour, confidence and sensuality.
His early entrance into the world of fashion began at his family-owned tailoring and textile shop, “Geebees and Kaleels” on Perakumba Street in Kurunegala. At the young age of 16, Aslam would spend hours at the shop, learning how to sew and using his imagination to create unique designs. The youngest in a family of eight, the fashion conscious Aslam would always be immaculately dressed, spending time on perfecting his look.
“My family realized that I had a knack for designing and style and endorsed my entry into the fashion industry. I acquired a wealth of knowledge in the fields of visual merchandising, fashion designing and business management,” said Aslam Hussein, the Managing Director of Geebees Clothing.
Aslam pursued his passion for fashion by establishing Geebees Clothing in 2003, a flagship department store that offers a vibrant selection of handpicked clothes and accessories that are specially designed to suit the fashion conscious men and women of Sri Lanka.
“Geebees is a complete department store that sells exquisite, one of the kind Indian Saris, designer bridal-wear, bridal rutines, intricately worked Salwars and Kurtas, formal and casual clothing for men and women, kiddy clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories that helps complete your total look. At Geebees we lay emphasis on helping you create this without a hassle, all under one roof. Every outfit is handpicked by me. His family also owns several garment factories that manufacture shirts under the labels Ebony, Vantage and Flash; formal and casual trousers under the labels free man, lorah, sep-eleven and mark Alfred. Aslam who often travels to India, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai, puts his ability to design to good use by creating exquisite saris with innovative designs and colors, stylish shirts and men’s shoes that accentuate one’s beauty and personality.
He added “Being a part of the local fashion industry has been my dream, I love every moment of it. I get to design my own clothes, meet new people and choreograph and produce my own shows.”
Aslam has presented and choreographed numerous fashion shows at the Hilton Colombo and Ceylon Intercontinental, showcasing designs and creations that spell elegance and cotemporary beauty every step of the way.
“My wife is my strength; she understands me, stands by me through thick and thin and supports my every endeavor. She takes care of the kids’ needs and mine. I have three beautiful children, 2 daughters and a son who also support me and encourage me. I’m very proud of my children and thankful to god for giving me this wonderful family” he said filled with emotion. The glitz, the glamour and the constant traveling are no obstacle for Aslam who loves spending time with his family whenever he is free and never misses those special moments in their life.

The international designer Walid Attallah was born under the skies of Lebanon. Inspired by the magnificence of fashion, he graduated from the University of Chicago in fashion design.
Walid Attallah started off his international journey after a couple of outstanding fashion shows in the city of Dubai, which were inaugurated by super stars. Soon after, he started his immaculate shows in Europe and Asia where he was awarded for his astonishing achievements. Being the fashion guru that he is, Walid Attalah did not settle for the norm, he created prêt-a-porter collection and was the first one to add diamonds to his collections.
Years after working with super stars and receiving international awards from royalties and dignitaries, Walid Attallah is surfing the world and adding his charm of every living women in the globe!
The AVNAH Collection is a women’s line created by Avnah Davis-Long. The boldness of design reflects the strength of the Collection producing the most innovative pieces. This Collection is very diverse with a futuristic approach to fashion and embodies exclusive structured designs. The distinctive style of this Collection is becoming the favorite, along with the playful use of cuts which gives her pieces a distinctive look and contrast.
Fashion Designer Avnah Davis-Long was raised in humble surroundings with strong artistic traditions. She grew up and attended schools between Youngstown, Ohio and a small town in North Carolina. Although Avnah has always had an eye for fashion, the true artistry was introduced to her by her mother who taught her the creative skill of crochet at the young age of nine.
In 2002, she moved to Atlanta, GA and she took those teaching with her which created a buzz as she began to launch her crochet swimwear and clothing line giving her high recognition. Starting off as a crochet designer, her desire for sewing soon transformed into something bold, daring and very futuristic. In 2010, the Haute Couture Collection was introduced, adding multiple arrays of fashion.
AVNAH is making a huge mark in the fashion industry. This Collection featured structured cuts, diverse pattern and creative design. She is known for her ability to evolve, to take risk and go in a 360 degree opposite of the normal or everyday trends. Although she never received any kind of formal training or fashion schooling, her career as a designer has made a tremendous mark in the fashion industry in a short amount of time.
Her dreams as an International Fashion Designer keeps her focused as she pushes for the Collection to be featured in Tokyo, Japan, Paris, Dubai, Milan and other fashion capitals. She has distinctive style and wants every woman that wears her designs to feel confident, powerful and demand attention. Known for pushing the envelope you can always expect the unexpected from this designer.
Her goal is to make the world more beautiful through the AVNAH Collection. Many of her designs have been worn by artists such as Kelly Rowland, Sasha Piertese of ABC’s Pretty Little Liars, Cynthia Bailey, and numerous spreads in magazines. Her vision is to team up with different charity organizations so that every purchase of AVNAH goes to a mission to help someone or some country. That is and will continue to be the beauty of AVNAH.
