New York Art, Antique and Jewelry Show-NYC

The New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show made its annual return to the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue) November 20-24, 2015. Presented by the Palm Beach Show Group, this important event will feature more than 80 international exhibitors, an engaging lecture series and exclusive interior designer led tours.

As one of New York City’s longest running events, the show has become a hallmark in the city’s social season and has set a benchmark of excellence in the art, antique and jewelry industry. The show is known for bringing thousands of works of art and antiquities from domestic and international galleries, in addition to fabulous antique and estate jewels from many of the world’s elite jewelers. The New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show boasts an enviable selection of antiquities and upon its return, will draw tens of thousands of private collectors, museum curators, art advisors and interior designers who are eager to view and purchase the unique, the rare and the one-of-a-kind.

The Show kicked off with a Private Opening Night Preview Party for VIP guests on Friday, November 20. The Opening Night Preview Party draws attendees who love art, including museum curators, political dignitaries, collectors and the social elite. The invitation-only evening provides a first-look of the New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show offerings before they are available to the public.

Adding to the grandeur of the event, Le Cirque produced three distinct dining experiences for attendees at the show this year, including the iconic pop-up restaurant, the Le Cirque Brasserie. Limited private events and reservations are being accepted for this space throughout the show’s duration.

BERKO Fine Paintings will feature Edmond Georges Grandjean’s “Official Parade to the Paris World Fair” from 1878. Geneva based Suzanne Syz Art Jewels, whose client list boasts Hollywood royalty, Elizabeth Taylor and aristocratic royalty alike, will showcase a one-of-a-kind 17.24 carat Pink Tourmaline ring. Specializing in Impressionist and Modern British paintings, Richard Green, will feature works by Renoir and New Orleans-based M.S. Rau Antiques will showcase rarities including Pope Paul VI’s 13 carat white diamond ring and gold cross.

With an emphasis on design, the Show has once again partnered with the New York School of Interior Design. Four students were selected to design a grand, Avant Garde entrance to the show that will lead into a rare and exceptional Meiji period rotating pagoda presented by Wick Antiques, which will house one of the show’s most exciting rarities for all to admire at the show,

WatchTime NY, America’s Luxury Watch Show, Unveil Luxury Watches to the Public @ Gotham Hall

WatchTime Magazine, America’s best-selling and most influential media brand devoted to wristwatch collectors and enthusiasts, hosted its largest and most luxurious consumer event to date, WatchTime New York, on October 2015,at Manhattan’s elegant Gotham Hall.

A star-studded assortment of more than 20 luxury watch brands, from internationally renowned manufacturers to up-and-coming independents, will exhibit their newest timepieces at the show — some of which will be on display in the U.S.A for the first time — offering guests the opportunity to see and try on watches as well as mingle with watch company executives, industry experts, and fellow watch aficionados.

The event begin with a VIP cocktail party on Friday the 23rd, and continues with an all-day session the following day. Both days l featured presentations and Q&A opportunities with such luminaries as WatchTime editor-in-chief and veteran watch-industry journalist Joe Thompson; leading watch collector and brand consultant Jeff Kingston; and social media personality Anish Batt, founder of watch-and-lifestyle site WatchAnish.com. Several exhibiting brands will also have professional watchmakers plying their trade at work benches to educate consumers about the watchmaking process.

Twenty Fifteen PDN Photo Plus Expo at NY Javit Center

My work is about the importance of simple things; elements of nature that we usually
take for granted, and whose beauty we don’t take time to observe, like a fragment of
a leave, a flower, or the way light is reflected as it strikes a drop of dew.
These elements are recreated with emphasis in the geometry of nature’s designs. It
is the complexity within the simplicity.

The work constitutes an alarm to remind us all to preserve the environment that we
are part of and that we are relentlessly destroying.

Advertising Week, the world’s largest annual gathering of leaders across the advertising, creative, entertainment, marketing, media and technology industries, today announced its final lineup of evening talent and daytime thought leaders. Now in its 12th year, Advertising Week will take place in New York City from September 28th – October 2nd. Interview with Bill Austin & Tani Austin Co-Founders of Starkey hearing Foundation-2015

In 1978, Bill Austin created the Starkey Fund, which was a battery-recycling program with proceeds aimed at helping people in need receive hearing assistance. This fund evolved into the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which was officially founded in 1984 by Bill and Tani Austin.
In 1985, Starkey Hearing Foundation conducted it’s first mission at XV World Games for the Deaf in Los Angeles, fitting more than 800 deaf athletes.

In 2015, Starkey Hearing Foundation was the official Healthy Hearing partner of the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles. As the Healthy Hearing partner, the foundation provided free hearing health exams and free hearing aids to Special Olympics athletes.

The foundation fits more than 175,000 free hearing aids annually to children and adults through global hearing missions all around the world and through the daily efforts of its domestic Hear Now program. As a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, the foundation has pledged to fit more than one million hearing aids by the end of this decade.

Austin’s philosophy is that the gift of hearing opens up a whole new world of opportunity by connecting individuals to life and helping them realize their potential. The goal of the Foundation is not only to help restore hearing, but to empower people with the ability to build themselves better lives and the knowledge that they too can help those around them.
The Starkey Hearing Foundation works closely with strategic partners in each country it travels to. These partners include national and regional health leaders, schools and non-government organizations. Members of the foundation recruit and train local volunteers to help ensure the long-term success and sustainability of each hearing mission.

The foundation is committed to global hearing health and leads a national program called Listen Carefully. Through music and education, Listen Carefully aims to help teens understand the science of hearing and dangers of exposure to high-decibel sounds

Interview with Former Undisputed World Heavyweight Boxing Champ Lennox Lewis-2015

Lennox Lewis, CM, CBE is a retired boxer and the last undisputed world heavyweight champion. He holds dual British and Canadian citizenship. As an amateur he won gold representing Canada at the 1988 Olympic Games after defeating future heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe in the final. Lewis is regarded by many as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.

Lewis turned professional in 1989, winning his first 21 fights before he knocked out Donovan Ruddock in 1992 to take over the number one position in the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings. He was declared WBC heavyweight champion in December 1992 after Riddick Bowe was stripped of the title. Lewis lost the title to Oliver McCall in 1994 but defeated McCall in a rematch to win the vacant WBC title in 1997. He defended the title four times before becoming the Lineal Champion when he beat Shannon Briggs by knockout in 1998. He became undisputed champion when he defeated Evander Holyfield in November 1999. In 2001 he was knocked out by Hasim Rahman, but again avenged the defeat in a rematch to regain his titles. After defeating Mike Tyson by knockout in 2002 and stopping Vitali Klitschko in 2003, Lennox Lewis retired from boxing in 2004.

Lewis is 6 feet 5 inches (196 centimetres) tall and has an 84-inch (213 cm) reach. During his boxing prime, he weighed about 245 pounds (111 kg). Lewis often referred to himself as “the pugilist specialist.”

Some 43,000 total trade attendees from all 50 states and 70+ countries worldwide are expected.

United Nations & Partners Host #SHAREHUMANITY Event For World HUMANITARIAN DAY -2015

The United Nations and partners brought together humanitarian workers, media innovators, celebrity musicians and influencers on the eve of World Humanitarian Day (WHD) in the name of inspiring the world’s humanity using the power of social media. The event was punctuated by storytelling and musical performances and place a spotlight on humanitarian crises around the world – with the ultimate goal of galvanizing a greater sense of global citizenship through this year’s groundbreaking #ShareHumanity digital campaign.

Featuring inspiring stories from survivors of humanitarian crises and relief efforts in action, the #ShareHumanity campaign calls on celebrities, influencers and the general public to “donate” their social media feeds for 24 hours, turning social media channels into unique, never-before-seen storytelling platforms. August 19 marks the anniversary of the 2003 United Nations Headquarters bombing in Baghdad that claimed the lives of 22 people. In an effort to raise awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide – and the people who risk their lives to provide it – the UN General Assembly in 2008 designated August 19 as “World Humanitarian Day.” This WHD event, which was organized with the generous support of the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates,aims to create a massive display of public support for humanitarian action leading up to the first-ever World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul (May 2016).
