    Michelle Wingshan Kwan is an American figure skater. She is a two-time (1998 and 2002) Olympic medalist, a five-time (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003) World champion and a nine-time (1996, 1998–2005) U.S. champion (the all-time record, as tied with Maribel Vinson-Owen).

    She competed at a high level for over a decade and is the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history. Known for her consistency and expressive artistry on ice, she is widely considered one of the greatest figure skaters of all time.

    For well over a decade, Michelle Kwan maintained her status not only as America’s most popular figure skater but as one of America’s most popular female athletes, consistently making the top ten on many such polls and lists (often as the only figure skater) even years after she had stopped competing. During the decade of her reign Kwan enjoyed unprecedented popularity and amassed numerous multi-million dollar endorsement deals, starred in multiple TV specials and was the subject of extensive media coverage.

    Adam Charles Graves is a Canadian former professional hockey player. He is best known for his ten-year tenure with the New York Rangers. He also played for the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks. He finished his career with 329 goals and 287 assists and is currently a New York Rangers special assistant with Prospect Development and Community Relations.

    Walter “Clyde” Frazier is an American former basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was blessed with a unique combination of court vision, quickness, and size (he stands 6’4″) for a guard. As their floor general, he led the New York Knicks to the franchise’s only two NBA Championships (1970 & 1973), and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. Upon his retirement from basketball, Frazier went into broadcasting; he is currently a color commentator for telecasts of Knicks games on the MSG Network.

    Billie Jean King was born November 22, 1943 in Long Beach, California. Billie Jean began playing tennis at an early age and quickly became one of the best in the world, following her first Wimbledon double’s title in 1962. She would go on to win 20 Wimbledon titles and fight for equal pay for the women title.
    Between 1961 and 1979, Billie Jean King won a record 20 Wimbledon titles, including the singles in 1966–8, 1972–3, and 1975. She also won 13 US titles (including four singles), four French titles (one singles), and two Australian titles (one singles).
    Off the court, Billie Jean King fought for equal prize money for men and women and in 1971 became the first female athlete to win over $100,000. This campaign for equality is most notably remembered by her 1973 “Battle of the Sexes” match against 55-year-old tennis champ Bobby Riggs, who claimed the women’s game to be inferior. The match drew considerable publicity and before a worldwide television audience of some 50 million, King beat Riggs 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
    In 1974, Billie Jean King became the first president of the Women’s Tennis Association. She headed up the first professional women’s tour, the Virginia Slims, in the 1970s. She was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987 and served as captain of the United States Fed Cup team in the 1990s.

    Carlos Beltrán is a Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, New York Mets, and San Francisco Giants.

    Beltrán was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1999. He has been named to seven MLB All-Star Games, and has won three Gold Glove Awards and two Silver Slugger Awards. Beltrán is a member of the 30–30 club, as he has hit 30 home runs and stolen 30 bases in the same season.

    Beltrán is among the best all-time statistical hitters in Major League Baseball postseason games, which has earned him nicknames such as “the new Mr. October”, “Mr. October, Jr.”, “Señor Octubre” and “the real Mr. October” from the media.

    He leads several offensive categories during this month, including slugging percentage, runs scored in a single season and at bats per home run-ratio. Beltrán is MLB’s all-time leader in OPS (on-base plus slugging) during the postseason, surpassing Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig among players with at least a hundred at-bats. He has broken the 1.000 OPS mark in four different playoff series. Beltrán also has a 100% stolen base percentage during this phase of the tournament, which are the most stolen bases without being caught.

    Dwight Eugene “Doc” Gooden nicknamed “Dr. K”, is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He was one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in the National League in the middle and late 1980s.

    A native of Tampa, Florida, Dwight Gooden was drafted in the first round in 1982, the fifth player taken overall. He spent one season in the minors, in which he led the Class-A Carolina League in wins, strikeouts and ERA while playing for the Lynchburg Mets. Gooden had 300 strikeouts in 191 innings, a performance which convinced Triple-A Tidewater Tides manager, future Mets skipper Davey Johnson, that he was capable of making the unusual leap to the major league.

    Kenny “The Jet” Smith is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association. He currently works as a TV basketball analyst, primarily for Inside the NBA on TNT.

    Smith was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the sixth pick of the 1987 NBA Draft. He played in the NBA from 1987 to 1997 as a member of the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Denver Nuggets. In his professional career, Smith scored 9,397 points and recorded 4,073 assists.

    He won two NBA championships with the Rockets in 1994 and 1995. In the first game of the 1995 Finals against the Orlando Magic, Smith made seven three-pointers, including a game-tying shot which sent the game into overtime. The Rockets won the game 120–118.

    “Eli” Manning is an American football quarterback for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) and is the active iron man for consecutive starts by a quarterback. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the younger brother of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning played college football at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) after attending prep school at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. He was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers and immediately traded to the New York Giants, who in return gave up a package highlighted by fourth overall selection Philip Rivers.

    Manning has been named Most Valuable Player for two Super Bowls (Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI) and is one of five quarterbacks to have been given this honor twice.
