U.S. BOATING BY THE NUMBERS, an estimated 100 million Americans go boating each year. Ninety-five percent of boats sold in the U.S. are American made. The personal watercraft category, often a gateway to boating given the category’s entry-level pricing, saw an estimated 13% growth (approximately 80,000 units) in 2023 and was a key driver of overall new powerboat sales.

NY ranked 6 in total marine expenditures in 2022. Boating has a $10 Billion economic impact in NY, supporting 34,717 jobs and 2,341 businesses.
