We had many individual donors who contributed monetary donations, of $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 and some in a better situation donated a little more which they can afford., we want to thank many people on our social media platforms, who made these contributions, from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Linked IN.Above all we also want to thank all our Humanitarians of the World Inc, (HOTWINC) Volunteers, who contributed, their time, money and energy, to make this project a super success.

After packing all the bags, alongside our volunteers, we put them in our van and start hitting different locations, throughout New York City, Queens, Bronx, and Brooklyn. Each one of our volunteers are wearing a mask, a shield over the mask , alongside a pair of rubber gloves, to keep them safe, while distributing the bags to many people, also 6ft social distancing is an must, for everybody’s safety, each volunteer is given a 30 minute course in this COVID-19 pandemic.

We are proud to say all our volunteers helping us, did not get effected with COVID-19 , and everyone we distributed the bags were all safe, apart from the people who were suffers of COVID-19, which we distributed bags to many by leaving the bags 7 feet away, after that they picked them up. They waved to us and thanked us, for the donation of bags.

On a daily basis, we would distribute 10 bags, to 10 homeless South American, folks near a park near, Elmhurst hospital. I try to send a few of the homeless there to a local food pantry where they can get free food on a daily basis.

According 3 of the homeless guys, they told us that they did go to such pantries and was told by a couple of guys distributing food, that they needed an ID, and that if they had no ID, ISIS, will arrest them and have them deported, so they got scared and never went back to the pantry. So we on a regular basis give them bags of food, so they don’t go hungry.

We have also gave bags full of basic necessities, to Elmhurst Hospital, First responders, nurses, health workers and Also we presented a bag to a lady Mrs Uchenna Onyia-Murphy who traveled, from  Little Rock Arkansas, who told us that she and her daughter came here to help the front line nurses which her service was needed. Alongside her daughter, and are here to help save lifes.

A mother-daughter duo from Arkansas who are both nurses have recently taken their medical skills to the state where the novel coronavirus has hit hardest: New York. In the last few weeks, Uchenna Onyia-Murphy and Ona Onyia, of Little Rock, have been working in New York City-area hospitals. Uchenna Onyia-Murphy, a nurse practitioner, has been stationed at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, while her daughter, Ona Onyia, a registered nurse, has been working in the intensive care unit at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.

On Sun Aug 16th 2020, we went to the Upper Westside, from 72nd Street to 79th Street and Broadway, to find out what was happening in the neighborhood. We read many reports in the media and social media, that a lot of folks living in the area, were homeless temporally, placed by City in hotels, for a period of 6 months, mostly single men.

We also spoke to many homeless people, who were staying in the hotels, few of them told us that , they understand the concern of the residents, that they are getting g many people coming in their neighborhood at once, and they are not used to all this.

Nick who has MS, told us he comes to the store to buy coffee walk a little and then go back to his hotel room where he watches TV and goes to sleep, he does that day in and day out, he also went to tell us that the food the city was serving , was terrible and tasteless.

We met many people, who were down on their look, they were placed by the City, in that location. And most of the people would have been happy staying in an hotel in their own boroughs. They were very scared about the media coverage and what the residents were saying about them, not all of them are Alcoholics, Drug users, or criminals.

A lot of the people we interviewed seemed very nice polite people, who were down and out on their luck. And just needed a chance so they can move on with their lives.

Dear friends, Contributors, kindly ask yourself one question, what if I was in this situation, how will I cope? Who will help me, where will my next meal be coming from, how am I going to stay warm in the winter, not in a shelter, where you get robbed, beaten and in some cases if you are a woman, you get molested.
