Exclusive interview with Beverly Johnson Black Supermodel- 2014

World Liberty TV fashion team had the pleasure of interviewing Beverly Johnson at the Emerge Fashion Show where she was honored for this year’s Fashion Innovator Award.
Born into a middle-class family in Buffalo, New York, Johnson was a champion swimmer in her youth and aspired to be a lawyer. She was studying political science at Northeastern University when she tried modeling. She quickly landed an assignment with Glamour and began working steadily. She went on to appear on more than 500 magazine covers, including her groundbreaking Vogue cover in August 1974. Her appearance on the cover changed the beauty ideal in US fashion, and by 1975, every major American fashion designer had begun using African-American models.

In addition to modeling, Johnson has also written a book, Beverly Johnson’s Guide to a Life of Health and Beauty, and embarked on an acting career. She has also had roles in the films Ashanti (1979), The Meteor Man (1993), Def Jam’s How to Be a Player (1997), and Crossroads (2002). She has appeared in guest spots on several television series, including Law & Order, Lois & Clark: the New Adventures of Superman, the Parent ‘Hood and the Super Bowl episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun (1998). She served for two seasons as a celebrity judge on the TV Land series She’s Got the Look, a reality series, where women over 35 compete for a modeling contract and magazine spread. At the start of the series in 2008, Johnson shared that she and other models had suffered from anorexia and bulimia during her career. She had a brief singing career, releasing one album in 1979 on Buddah Records.

Johnson has been a longtime hair and beauty influencer. Beginning with the Beverly Johnson Eyewear Signature Collection in Sears Optical (1991-2002) to her Beverly Johnson Wig and Hair Extension Signature Collection (1996-2011), she was among the first supermodels to cross into the business of fashion. Partnered with Amekor, she launched the Beverly Johnson Hair Collection, a line of wigs and hair products for the African-American market. In 2010, she introduced a line of restorative and styling hair care products to Target. She currently runs Beverly Johnson Enterprises, a company that produces hair extensions.

Exclusive Interview with Sheynnis Palacios Miss Universe -2023

Sheynnis Palacios is a 23-year-old mental health advocate and audiovisual producer from Managua, Nicaragua. She usually prefers to be behind the camera, but she’s come out of the wings because she believes in finding solutions for as many of the world’s problems as she can.

As a problem-solving kind of person, she put herself through the communications program at her university by working in her mom’s snack business.

When the business faltered in an economic crisis, her mother migrated north to find a better job, and she became the economic and emotional support for her grandmother and young brother. Her cause this year will be mental health, which stems from her own experiences with anxiety.

Coming from a country where this issue is rarely addressed, she started an accessible initiative called “Understand Your Mind,” in which she interviews a specialist on emotional care in her television segments.

She has also produced events and other audiovisual projects on this theme. Her goal in life is to work in the service of humanity, by running a newsroom and producing content and commercials for international brands.

In her spare time, she rescues cats and dogs, and loves a good mental game and puzzle. Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios won the Miss Universe competition late Saturday night in El Salvador, the first to wear the crown from her country.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios at the Empire State Building New York city on the 86th floor. See her exclusive interview in our World Liberty TV , Fashion Channels by clicking here.

NY Pride Parade NYC-2025

BY: Adal Hussain, Chief  Editor. 25th St 5th Ave NYC  June 29th 2025

NYC Pride | Heritage of Pride, a longtime national leader in LGBTQIA+ Pride organizing and advocacy, announces its official theme for 2025.

“Rise Up: Pride in Protest.” As the LGBTQIA+ community faces increasing hostility and legislative attacks, this year’s theme is a reflection of the Pride movement’s origins in protest—and is a powerful call to action for our communities and allies to rally and march in defiant celebration, advocacy and solidarity.

“Rise Up: Pride in Protest” meets the moment before us and honors the legacy of the first Pride March in 1970, which commemorated the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

“This year, more than ever, we acknowledge that Pride can be celebrated in many ways, but at the heart of our mission, we recognize that we must also remain steadfast in protest,” said Kazz Alexander, NYC Pride Co-Chair.

“The challenges we face today, particularly in this political climate, require us to stand together in solidarity. We must support one another, because when the most marginalized among us are granted their rights, all of us benefit.

The NYC Pride 2025 calendar includes the annual NYC Pride March, among the largest LGBTQIA+ Pride marches worldwide, and PrideFest, the largest LGBTQIA+ street festival in New York, on Sunday, June 29.

NYC Pride also offers a diverse array of year-round opportunities to gather through our Pride365 programming, ensuring that our activism and community impact extends beyond the month of June.

NYC Pride had many events in 2025 and Grand Marshals, who embody the spirit of resilience and activism during Pride Month and beyond.

NYC Pride’s 2025 Pride Gives Back grant awards, which support local nonprofits and initiatives serving the LGBTQIA+ community, will also be announced soon.

NYC Pride is made possible through the support of community members and allies. To sustain our mission and continue advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Many political leaders were in attendance, which included Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James , Zohran Mamdani , NYC Democratic Mayoral Candidate, New York City Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli, New York City Public Advocate, jumaane williams, Council Members, Senators and many more community leaders .

Jessica Tisch, New York City Police Commissioner, alongside Det. Brian Downey, Gay Officers Action League to protest NYC Pride March over uniform disagreement.

GOAL wants to participate in the March while wearing their full police uniforms, which means carrying concealed firearms.

Heritage of Pride, the nonprofit that organizes NYC Pride, says that goes against the weapon policy for the Pride March and offered a compromise – letting GOAL march in uniform but without carrying their service weapons.

“Members of our organization and our community feel that we need to be safe in the March and in the space that we are inhabiting together. That means no weapons,” Heritage of Pride co-chair Kazz Alexander said in a statement.

Canelo VS Crawford NY Press Conference for Sept 13th 2025 Mega Fight @ Las Vegas

Following the kickoff press conference, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford host the second leg of a three-city press tour at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York on June 22 2025.

The two fighters preview their highly anticipated matchup, with the undisputed super middleweight title on the line.

Mexico’s Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOs) and Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) of Omaha, NE battle it out on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The contest, featuring two four-division champions, airs live on Netflix.

Two-time undisputed 168-pound champion Canelo makes the first defense of his title during his second reign. Two-division undisputed champion Crawford looks to collect all major belts in his third weight class.

The undisputed super middleweight king Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) concurs, and he’s anticipating that his Sept. 13 superfight against Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will be anything but boring at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Netflix.

“I agree with Turki Alalshikh. People want to see good fights,” Alvarez told reporters during the press tour announcing his fight. “People come to spend money to see great fights and if the other fighter comes to run on the night and doesn’t make a good fight, it’s deceptional. Alalshikh and I talked after the Scull fight about that. It’s very sad.”

Alvarez went on to label Crawford as a top-six opponent in his career and believes it’ll be an entertaining night.

“We expect a great fight, the fight of the century, right?” said Alvarez. “I’m going to win the fight.” Thousands of fans were in attendance at the New York Press Conference, during Fanatics Fest NYC at Javits Center -2025.

Guests on Dias included: Turki Alalshikh, Voice of Boxing, Michael Buffer, Dana White, UFC President and Promoter of the fight, Announcer Max Kellerman, Richard Schaffer, Boxing Promoter and advisor to Canelo, Eddy Reynoso long-time trainer and manager of boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford’s trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, Nick Khan, WWE President and of course the legends of Boxing, Canelo Alvarez and Terrance Crawford.

A lot of people are making many predictions and have so much to say about this fight, as being a former fighter, fan, writer and boxing historian, my prediction will be this is one of the best fight in the last ten years and I believe this will be a 50% 50% fight either man can win.

ICE Protest’s at 26 Federal Plaza NYC-2025

BY: Adal Hussain, Chief  Editor. 26 Federal Plaza NYC 10007, June 9th 2025

A large anti-ICE protest took place in New York City on June 9, 2025, with a focus on 26 Federal Plaza, which houses both federal immigration offices and one of the city’s three immigration courts.

The protest was concentrated around 26 Federal Plaza and Foley Square in Lower Manhattan.

Demonstrators protested against the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown and increased ICE enforcement actions, including the detention of migrants attending court hearings.

Protesters gathered for rallies, speeches, and marches through the streets. Chants like “Abolish ICE” and “ICE out of NYC” were heard. Some people carried signs and flags, including Mexican and Palestinian flags.

Seven individuals were arrested during an “ICE out of NYC” demonstration held near 26 Federal Plaza on the evening of June 9 2025.

Trump Tower Protest: Earlier in the day on June 9, a separate protest involving about two dozen people took place in the lobby of Trump Tower, leading to around 24 arrests.

The protests in New York City were part of a wider series of demonstrations across the U.S. in response to concerns about immigration enforcement, including actions that led to protests and curfews in Los Angeles.

ICE has spent the past three weeks staking out immigration courthouses, arresting people attending regular court hearings — often in their attempt to apply for asylum — in the hallways, lobbies and even bathrooms of the court buildings.

It has been the epicenter of ICE activity of the past few weeks, and the street outside has been a locus for demonstrations in recent days.

Tuesday’s protest was the largest yet, with several hundred people gathering on either side of Duane Street, which is closed off to all but federal vehicles.

The demonstrators were met with dozens of NYPD officers from the Strategic Response Group on either side of the roadway.

As demonstrators tried to block the entrance to the street, NYPD officers forced their way into the crowd and pushed protesters onto adjacent sidewalks, making several aggressive arrests.
