    The Board of Directors of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) today announced the honorees and key details for its 69th annual celebration of Puerto Rican culture, heritage, and achievement.

    Under the 2026 theme, “Somos Más Que 100×35” (We’re More than 100×35), this year’s Parade honors the extraordinary contributions of Puerto Ricans across the archipelago and global diaspora in every field of achievement.

    More than a theme, “Somos Más Que 100×35” affirms that Puerto Rican influence reaches far beyond geography. Although Puerto Rico measures just 100 by 35 miles, Puerto Ricans around the world continue to shape culture, music, sports, entertainment, politics, business, and society through generations of excellence, resilience, creativity, and pride.

    This year’s Parade will also honor two special communities: Vega Baja, PR and New Jersey.

    “We are proud to recognize an outstanding group of honorees whose achievements reflect the spirit of this year’s theme,” said NPRDP Board Chair Lillian Rodríguez López.

    “Each represents the talent, determination, creativity, and cultural pride that continue to uplift Puerto Rican communities worldwide. Together, they show that Puerto Rican impact extends far beyond our island’s size.”

    The procession will travel up New York City’s Fifth Avenue on Sunday, June 14, bringing together participants and spectators from across the United States and Puerto Rico for one of the nation’s largest cultural celebrations.

    Leading the 2026 procession as Grand Marshal is global reggaetón star Daddy Yankee. Widely recognized as a culture creator, game-changer, and global icon who helped bring reggaetón to the world, Daddy Yankee shaped the sound and influence of Latin music as we know it today.

    With era-defining hits like “Gasolina,” “Despacito” (with Luis Fonsi), and “Con Calma” (with Snow), his impact on music and culture is undeniable.

    He has been named as the 2026 Latin Recording Academy®️ Person of the Year, recognizing his lasting contributions and influence.

    Named Queen of the Parade is Dayanara Torres, the acclaimed TV host, actress, and Miss Universe 1993.

    She has built a successful career across U.S. and Latin media and currently co-hosts the nationally syndicated El Show de Enrique Santos.

    About the National Puerto Rican Day Parade: Recognized as America’s largest celebration of Puerto Rican culture and achievement, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade is a vital platform for cultural preservation, education, and community empowerment. Rooted in the New York City Puerto Rican community’s fight for visibility, inclusion, and equity in the 1950s, the Parade continues to honor Puerto Rican history, arts, and contributions while investing in future generations through educational programs and scholarships.

    Under its slogan, Un Pueblo, Muchas Voces (One People, Many Voices), the NPRDP celebrates the richness and diversity of Puerto Rican identity around the world.

    Many political leaders marched in Parade, which included: Governor Hochul, Mayor Mamdani, Letitia James, New York State Attorney General, Jumaane Williams, New York City Public Advocate, Julie Menin , New York City Council speaker and so many more in attendance celebrating the Parade.

    Esé Azénabor’s designs are inspired by the arts and her culture. They are daring, luxurious, extravagant, and shows her artistic side through her beading and attention to detail.
    As the saying goes, Nigerian born Canadian transplant Esé Azénabor got to Texas as fast as she could. Her arrival on the fashion scene, however, required a few additional detours. But we think you’ll agree her creations were well worth the wait.

    Hailing from a family who considered fashion design more of a hobby than a career, young Esé had to sweep her creative urges under the rug. The Azénabor name was grounded in the fields of medicine, law, and engineering, and she, in turn, attended the University of Windsor in Windsor in Ontario, Canada, and majored in accounting. A move to Dallas followed, to pursue a Masters Degree at Southern Methodist University, detoured to following her dreams and started designed handmade dresses for her self, friends and family. Since she was a little girl, Esé held to her mother’s belief in her talent for creating wearable art.

    In 2012, without any financial assistance, this self-taught designer traded predictable college life for the wild world of fashion with the launch of her Self Titled ready-to-wear line. At her sewing machine, she conceptualized her fascination for heavy hand beading, crocheted lace, exquisite fabrics and embroidery. Inspired by a combination of vintage, African, Egyptian, and contemporary European influences, she merged cultures to create her debut of her Haute-Couture and Ready-to-wear luxurious collection. Esé has now debuted three collections and teamed up with her sister Dosé Azénabor to create her most recent SS15 Collection and today they are now partners for the fashion Label.

    Esé Azénabor’s goal is to empower women through the art of fashion.

    The orchestra selects top students of a system of 54 orchestras in 29 states, where a total of 12,000 children participate in an intensive musical learning environment designed to promote universal values of teamwork, dedication, self-esteem and passion.

    Ricardo Salinas inaugurated the concert of young musicians with a special dedication to Mexico’s Paralympic Team in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The Mexican squad won 21 medals in the Paralympic Games of London 2012.

    The concert included a double orchestra and choir, totaling 245 members, who delighted audiences with a program that included pieces by Dvorak, Mozart, Rossini and Verdi.

    “All of you represent the best of Mexico,” said Mr. Salinas to the Esperanza Azteca youth. “You have demonstrated the best in teamwork, performance, effort, values and friendship.”

    The Esperanza Azteca musical education project is a joint endeavor of Grupo Salinas’ Fundación Azteca in collaboration with the Mexican Congress, the Education Ministry, the National Council of Culture and the Arts, 29 state governments and local communities.

    HARLEM WEEK began in 1974 as HARLEM DAY, a day of encouragement and fellowship in Harlem for New Yorkers. Given the huge success of the celebration, more days were added to showcase the community’s rich economic, political and cultural history.
    Now in its 39th year, HARLEM WEEK offers over 100 events throughout the summer to over 2 million attendees from all over New York and the world. HARLEM WEEK celebrates the neighborhoods assets and unique flavor, promoting Harlem’s rich African, African-American, Caribbean, Hispanic and European history, culture, arts, religion, entertainment and sports.
