Samsung Galaxy S4 Launch at Radio City Music Hall – New York

Held at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, the event featured Broadway star Will Chase and numerous other actors playing out skits designed to illustrate new features of the Galaxy S4. It included a tap-dancing kid; supposed backpackers making their way through Brazil, Paris and China; and scads of lame jokes.

The event was bizarre and over-the-top and in sharp contrast to what we’ve seen from Apple, whose events are typically understated – if overhyped.

That’s true of Apple’s products as well. Each new iPhone has typically had one main feature that distinguishes it from its predecessors and its competition.

The list of new features for the Galaxy S4, by contrast, is both impressive and overwhelming – and maybe more than consumers can get their heads around.

It has a 5-inch screen, which is even bigger than its predecessor’s and dwarfs that of the iPhone 5. The display also offers a greater pixel density than Apple’s vaunted Retina Display.

The new phone’s 13 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front cameras are higher resolution than those on the iPhone. And unlike Apple’s phone, it includes

More about the phone:

A humidity and temperature sensor, though it’s not yet clear how that will be used.

Kevin L. Michel, Presidential Impersonator Promoting the book Fool Me Twice

The news that HBO was planning a 2011 documentary film chronicling the meteoric rise of Barack Obama came to no one as a surprise. Many had suggested that it would be difficult to cast someone to play the President, and this would be a difficult casting decision. I am blogging to celebrate the amazing selection HBO has made of comedian Kevin Michel to play the president.
At first one would think a comedian a radical (or maverick) choice, but Kevin has succeeded in capturing the essence of the superstar president. Having only recently begun work on the impression, Mr. Michel has made great strides in mimicking Obama and is notably very funny. Here he is doing a spoof of an Obama press conference.
World Liberty TV had the pleasure of interviewing Kevin L. Michel, Presidential Impersonator promoting the book, Fool Me Twice at The BEA 2012. See what he had to say about Michelle and Bo, The Dog.

Interview with Helen Patton of Patton Publishing and the Granddaughter of General Patton at The BEA NY Show

The new book by photographers Robert Miller and Andrew Wakeford presents vignettes representing a cross-section of living war veterans who have made personal sacrifices and, in many cases, have undergone the horrors of combat. The authors approached this project with a desire to recognize these servicemen and women visually through portrait-quality photos combined with personal remembrances of their individual experiences and service to their country.
Miller and Wakeford spent over two years interviewing more than 150 vets from five different wars. Among the more than 70 veterans represented in Portraits of Service, some are famous and some are homeless, but they all have one very important thing in common: they put their lives on the line for freedom.

Interview with Author/Photographer Sadaf Syed of I Cover Book

Mrs. Syed captures moments in the day-to-day lives of these Muslim women, moments that the average American can relate to once they “embrace” the fact that she covers her hair.

The accompanying photo captions and personal quotes flesh out the dimensions of these women’s lives. In the faces of a dancer, a surfer-girl, a biker, a tri-athlete and even a boxer you hear their voices, and touch their thoughts, dreams, struggles and fears. With each page, a stereotypes is shattered and the misunderstandings that surround the female followers of a faith of 1.3 billion diminish. iCOVER has garnered significant publicity both domestically and internationally.

Dynasties of the Sea, interview with Author Lori Ann LA Rocco at The Plaza Hotel NY

Stamford, CT, Marine Money Inc. November 12, 2012 – CNBC Senior Talent Producer and author Lori Ann LaRocco offers readers a rarefied view into the high-stakes world of shipping in Dynasties of the Sea: The Shipowners and Financiers Who Expanded the Era of Free Trade (Marine Money Inc.)
Packed with personal stories, actionable business strategies and tips for navigating the precarious world of global finance, Dynasties of the Sea is both a vital business book and a rollicking good read. Dynasties of the Sea profiles 21 of the world’s shipping pioneers, the men and women who have built and lost and re-built vast fortunes moving goods across the sea.
Whether born into the business or swept into it by a love of adventure and profit, these fascinating characters tell the stories of their early beginnings and cyclical successes in one of the most volatile and profitable businesses on earth.
Despite the industry having “the lowest cycle-to-cycle financial returns and the highest inter-cycle volatility, says marine finance expert Matt McCleery, “one might be tempted to think the international shipping industry would do nothing but destroy capital…yet the fact is that it has created more fortunes than any other business except technology.”
LaRocco, the best-selling author of Thriving in the New Economy (Wiley 2010) and renown for her ability to get busy billionaires to pick up the phone, is no stranger to the world’s business elite. “One of the biggest themes that came out of this book is how these shipping titans are worried about the health of the global economy and the bloated imbalance sheets of the United States and Europe,” LaRocco says.
“Their decisions on how they are leading were compelling.”
The shipping leaders give their candid assessment of where they are in the shipping cycle, the changing energy landscape and how they plan to lead their companies in the future.
World Liberty TV was on hand at the 13th Annual Marine Money Shipping Conference, where we interviewed the publishers, people in the Shipping industry who are showcased in the book, as well as the Author Loriann Larocco.
