THE RING AWARDS LIGHT UP NEW YORK CITY AS BOXING’S ELITEGATHER TO CELEBRATE THE YEAR’S DEFINING MOMENTS AT STAR- STUDDED CEREMONY.

New York City, Friday January 30th – Boxing royalty filled the room as legends past and

present came together for The Ring Awards, an unforgettable evening honoring the

fighters and moments that defined the sport over the past year. Among the many stars in

Attendance was Canelo Álvarez, Oleksandr Usyk, Chris Eubank Jr, Conor Benn, Lennox

Lewis, Terence Crawford, Deontay Wilder and more all present at the prestigious annual

celebration.

Headlining the list of honorees was Terence Crawford, crowned Male Fighter of the Year

after another dominant year that reinforced his status as one of boxing’s pound-for-pound

greats. Japan’s Mizuki Hiruta received Female Fighter of the Year as she was celebrated

for retaining her undefeated record.

The fiercely anticipated rivalry between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn captured the

Imagination of fans worldwide, earning their first encounter Fight of the Year. While Brian

Norman Jr.’s spectacular fifth-round stoppage of Jin Sasaki was voted Knockout of the

Year.

 

Japanese boxing took centre stage once more when Seiya Tsutsumi and Daigo Higa were

awarded Round of the Year for their unforgettable ninth round. Armando Resendiz

collected Upset of the Year for his stunning split-decision victory over Caleb Plant.

 

Rising star Emiliano Vargas was named Prospect of the Year, recognised as one of

boxing’s brightest young talents. Renowned coach Shingo Inoue was awarded Trainer of

the Year for his exceptional work developing world-class fighters.

 

Larry Merchant received the Lifetime Achievement Award, honouring decades of

unparalleled contribution to boxing journalism and storytelling.
