The Manischewitz Experience at Chelsea Market NYC

“The Manischewitz Experience” is a free, 3-day pop up event in Chelsea Market, NYC (11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday), featuring live chef demonstrations recipe tastings, interactive food stations, and giveaways. This 3-day Manischewitz event will be an immersive, multi-sensory, visually impactful experience that will transport visitors into a whimsical journey of food and fun. The event will feature interactive engagements including cooking demos, samplings stations, new product offerings, photo booths, giveaways, and more.

Hundreds of Manischewitz products will be on display from the latest product offerings to classic favorites. The Experience will showcase how Manischewitz is matzo and so much more! The Manischewitz Experience will feature Jamie Geller, dubbed “Queen of Kosher,” celebrity chef and author of Joy of Kosher the magazine and the book, who will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the first two days of the event. On the second and third day the event will feature Celebrity Chef Katsuji Tanabe, winner of Food Network’s “Chopped” and current contestant Bravo’s “Top Chef Boston” and owner of MexiKosher in LA. “The Manischewitz Experience” will educate people first-hand about the fresh, new culinary experiences that they can enjoy as a result of using Manischewitz foods in their everyday lives.

International Beauty Show at New York Javit Center – Twenty Fifteen

The International Beauty Show New York, presented by American Salon magazine, and wholly owned by Questex Media Group, was a resounding success and drew almost 63,000 passionate and energetic beauty pros looking to advance their skills, see the latest and greatest in beauty and to mingle with some of the top talent in the industry. IBS New York, once again, proved that the beauty industry is vibrant and strong.
IBS New York took place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City and a myriad of the best in hair care, nail care, tools, furniture, apparel and business technology were represented among the almost 500 exhibiting companies showcasing the newest and hottest looks and trends.

Awesome Vibe

The Exhibits

The thousands of beauty professionals in attendance spent hours shopping and learning from the companies on the exhibit floor. “The energy on the floor of IBS is really something special. With so much talent concentrated in New York City, the caliber of names on the Main Stage is quite impressive and the education is unparalleled. We always come away with great exposure for the essie brand. We wouldn’t miss it,” remarked Gerald Densk, General Manager of the essie professional division.

Tom Mazy, Director of Sales for Agadir International had this to say, “Sensational show; it exceeded our expectations! We sold out of our new Agadir Styling Curl Crème and had to restock our line twice.”

The importance of reaching the IBS attendee was best stated by Stacy Kilfoy, Sr. Director of marketing for Brazilian Blowout. “Our appearance at the IBS show gave us the opportunity to educate, as well as, excite both new and certified stylists about Brazilian Blowout and how it changes hair and changes lives.” Kilfoy continued, “As a manufacturer, inperson engagement is invaluable in building relationships with salon professionals and IBS is a great environment to foster this connectivity.”

Lisa Marie Garcia, VP Shows and Education for Farouk Systems remarked, “The attendance was amazing this year. I saw more stylists than ever before asking for education and seeking what is new and trending in the hair world!”

Ending Ebola and Building for the future Concert at UN-2015

On Monday, March 2, 2015, “The Stop Ebola and Build for the Future” concert took place at The United Nations General Assembly Hall and honored individuals on the frontline fighting the lethal disease. Distinguished speakers included United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, TV Personality Lisa Vanderpump, Our Host for the evening was Cheryl Wills. Performances by Etana, and Cheick Mamala Diabate.

Before the concert Billy Gilman, Richard Pryor Jr, Kelly Bensimon, Cody Calafiore, Omar Sharif Jr, Shannon LaNier, Barret Beyer, Wendy Diamond, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Jeremy Penn, David Banegas, BB Thomaz, Marc John Jefferies, Rain Dove, Mel Rose, tand other distinguished guests will meet at a reception in the UN Delegates Dining Room where they will recognize a select group of individuals who have fought heroically against Ebola.

The goal of this momentous occasion is to raise awareness and funds to combat Ebola’s effects in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone and to maintain the effort until this outbreak is completely controlled. In particular, the proceeds raised are expected to support the thousands of children who have been orphaned by Ebola and who are now shunned even by their close family members.

112th North American International Toy Fair at New York Javit Centre

The equivalent of more than seven football fields filled with brand-new toys and games were unveiled in New York City this morning at the 112th North American International Toy Fair – the Western Hemisphere’s largest and most important toy show – Which took place February 14-17, 2015 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Owned and operated by the U.S. Toy Industry Association (TIA), Toy Fair opened its doors to more than 30,000 registered global play professionals who are in town this week to explore a record-breaking 422,000+ net square feet of exhibit space filled with hundreds of thousands of toys, games and youth entertainment products – most of which will be appearing in stores now through the holiday shopping season.

“Toy Fair is a magical playground brimming with the hottest new creative and skill-building toys and games,” said Marian Bossard, TIA SVP of global market events. “Nearly 1,100 exhibiting toy manufacturers, importers and sales agents are on-site to showcase their latest product lines, innovative inventions, and beloved brands in front of 13,000 buyers from close to 100 countries. Founded in 1992 by NBA Legends Dave DeBusschere, Dave Bing, Archie Clark, Dave Cowens and Oscar Robertson, the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) is a non-profit association comprised of former professional basketball players of the NBA, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters, and WNBA. We are the only alumni association of its kind supported directly by the NBA and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).

MISSION STATEMENT

The National Basketball Retired Players Association is a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a two-pronged mission to assist former NBA, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters and WNBA players in their transition from the playing court into life after the game, while also positively impacting communities and youth through basketball.
