Tomorrow is our 22nd annual Thanksgiving Day Breakfast & Parade celebration! It’s a day when we express gratitude to first responders and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and year-round service to their communities.
This year promises even more excitement as we introduce our Family Fun Festival, adding an extra thrill to this cherished tradition. Before the parade officially begins, kids of all ages and their parents will delight in entertainment, games, toy giveaways, and much more!
Thanks to our incredible partners at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Jazwares, and Fox News Media each child in attendance will receive a brand-new toy to take home!
Continuing a 22-year tradition, the First Responders Children’s Foundation Thanksgiving Day Breakfast welcomes families who have endured the loss of a loved one in the line of duty to enjoy an up-close view of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It is also a day when we express gratitude to first responders and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and year-round service to their communities.
This year promises even more excitement as we introduce our 40th Street Family Fun Festival, opening at 7:00 am, adding an extra thrill to this cherished tradition. Before the parade officially begins, kids of all ages and their parents will delight in entertainment, games, toy giveaways, and much more!
Thanks to our incredible partners at Build-A-Bear, Jazwares, and FOX each child in attendance will receive a brand-new toy to take home, embodying the spirit of giving that defines this holiday.
The event is offered completely free of charge to first responder families and their children, thanks to generous donors and sponsorships.

The Food Network New York City Wine and Food Festival presented by Capital One (NYCWFF) is New York City’s premier culinary event.
The Festival will celebrate 16 years this October 12-15, 2023, with more than 80+ events and over 500 chefs from around the world. A variety of tastings, seminars, intimate dinners, late-night parties and more will take place at locations across the city.
100% of the Festival’s net proceeds will continue to support God’s Love We Deliver, the New York City metropolitan area’s only provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling for individuals living with severe illness.
“For this year’s sweet 16, there’s more opportunities than ever for fans and industry experts to unite and celebrate,” said Festival Founder and Director Lee Brian Schrager.
“We have an incredible ensemble of talent, showcasing today’s top chefs, culinary and lifestyle personalities. We’re also pleased to share new, not-to-be-missed events like The Cookout, an homage to Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary that harmoniously blends New York’s most ingenious chefs conjuring their signature flavors alongside performances from the genres most iconic figures.”
In honor of Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Festival’s official closing party will be a cookout MCed by Tamron Hall Emmy award-winning host of the Tamron Hall Show and Angela Yee from Power 105.1’s Way Up with Yee.
Presented by Bacardi, guests can look forward to feature performances by DJ CASSIDY, DJ MICK and 90s icons and Grammy award-winners Rev Run and Ice-T. The culinary offerings are curated by James Beard award winning chef JJ Johnson who has hand selected some of most talented Black chefs in New York to showcase their skills.
The fan-favorite event makes its return to Hudson River Park’s Pier 76 where a sprawling 245,000 sq. ft. outdoor area will be transformed into a gastronomic wonderland showcasing hundreds of winemakers and distillers from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio. Those looking to learn from today’s top content creators about the latest trends and engage in thought-provoking discussions on the intersection of food, culture and tech should grab tickets to FoodieCon® presented by Instagram.

Last year alone, the Festival’s charitable partner God’s Love We Deliver, delivered 3.6+ million medically tailored meals, with the help of 19,000 volunteers, to nearly 13,000 individuals. Annually, the Festival generates millions of impressions for God’s Love, raising awareness to grow the organization’s base of volunteers and clients. To date, NYCWFF has generated more than $14.8 million for its charitable causes with one hundred percent of the Festival’s net proceeds supporting its mission to EAT. DRINK. FEED NYC.

79th Annual Columbus Day Parade NYC-2023

The 79th Annual Columbus Day Parade returns to Fifth Avenue in New York City on Monday, October 9, 2023.
On Friday President of the Columbus Heritage Coalition, Angelo Vivolo, was joined by representatives from New York City’s largest Italian-American organizations for a brief preview of the event.
Each year, several hundred thousand people are joined by millions of viewers around the world to enjoy this display of Italian-American tradition.
The parade begins on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and continues north along Fifth Avenue to 72nd Street.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Beth Paretta, CEO and Team Principal of Paretta Autosport. Paretta is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and advocate who has demonstrated an ongoing dedication to supporting young women through educational initiatives.
Fellow honorees will be long-standing CCF Member Don DeCarlo, New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, Retired Justice Janet DiFiore, and Father Zach Presutti, founder of Thrive for Life, an organization devoted to assisting behind and beyond prison walls.
On Oct. 9, millions will gather in Manhattan to celebrate Italian-American heritage and culture. The event will take from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The day of the parade begins with a Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, presided by Cardinal Dolan.
This year’s parade is expected to bring out over 1 million spectators and 35,000 participants. Those who attend the parade will see several performances, floats, marching bands and so much more.
The main and most significant event in NYC’s Columbus Day celebrations is definitely the huge colorful parade that is held along the 5th Avenue.
About 100 groups of 35,000 artists perform in various fields and styles, take part in the parade.
The music that is played by various bands, various performances over floats attract about million spectators while many more millions watch the colorful procession on the television.
The Parade marches up Fifth Avenue from 44th to 72nd Street with red carpet performances on Fifth Avenue between 67th and 69th Streets.
Columbus Day in New York is an annual celebration that takes place in October. A large parade in honor of Christopher Columbus floats down Fifth Avenue and gathers mostly Italian Americans embracing their own roots.
In New York City, the holiday is celebrated both as Italian American Heritage Day and as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Since 1929, a parade has been held in New York with more than 35,000 participants and more than 1 million spectators with bands and floats. The parade starts from Fifth Avenue and 44th Street and continues along Fifth Avenue to 79th Street. The parade starts around 11:30 am in the morning and ends around 3:00 pm.
The Columbus Citizens Foundation’s most visible philanthropic focus is scholarships for deserving students who may not have the opportunity to realize their dreams of success.
To date, the Foundation has awarded over $36 million in scholarship funding to deserving students since the program’s inception.
