SYNOPSIS
Few parents give much thought to the jovial man in the Santa suit who promises their kids they’ll get everything they want for Christmas. If they did, they might be surprised. The new documentary I AM SANTA CLAUS looks at the men who put on the red suit every December and selflessly commit themselves to making anonymous children happy. Directed by Tommy Avallone and produced by Hall of Fame professional wrestler, Mick Foley, I AM SANTA CLAUS is the latest film that’s being release as part of the successful “Morgan Spurlock Presents” film label.

Everyone thinks of Santa Claus as a magical figure without flaws, but the men who keep his legend alive, real-bearded professional Santas, are rarely anything like the jolly old Saint Nick we’ve all grown up knowing. In reality, the mall Santa in your cherished children’s photo has problems just like the rest of us. Even the most jovial of men fall victim to divorce, job loss, insecurity and even the occasional hangover.

Tommy Avallone’s documentary I AM SANTA CLAUS – featuring Hall of Fame pro wrestler (and producer of the film) Mick Foley, who knows a thing or two about make-believe – follows the lives of five professional Santas for an entire year, as they anticipate and prepare for Christmas season and then return to their “real” lives during the off-season. We see who they actually are: flawed, flesh-and-blood men who nevertheless feel a great responsibility to protect the spotless reputation of the “Red Suit.”

World Liberty TV, Team was on hand to interview Mick foley in regarding his upcoming Documentary Titled: I Am Santa Claus. At The NY Comic Con 2014, see what he had to say to us.

ABOUT NIKE + NIKE SB
NIKE, Inc. is the world’s leading innovator in athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories. Before there was the Swoosh, before there was Nike, there were two visionary men who pioneered a revolution in athletic footwear that redefined the industry.
Bill Bowerman was a nationally respected track and field coach at the University of Oregon, who was constantly seeking ways to give his athletes a competitive advantage. He experimented with different track surfaces, re-hydration drinks and – most importantly – innovations in running shoes. But the established footwear manufacturers of the 1950s ignored the ideas he tried to offer them, so Bowerman began cobbling shoes for his runners.
Phil Knight was a talented middle-distance runner from Portland, who enrolled at Oregon in the fall of 1955 and competed for Bowerman’s track program. Upon graduating from Oregon, Knight earned his MBA in finance from Stanford University, where he wrote a paper that proposed quality running shoes could be manufactured in Japan that would compete with more established German brands. But his letters to manufacturers in Japan and Asia went unanswered, so Knight took a chance.
He made a cold-call on the Onitsuka Co. in Kobe, Japan, and persuaded the manufacturer of Tiger shoes to make Knight a distributor of Tiger running shoes in the United States. When the first set of sample shoes arrived, Knight sent several pairs to Bowerman, hoping to make a sale. Instead, Bowerman stunned Knight by offering to become his partner, and to provide his footwear design ideas to Tiger.
Nike Skateboarding, also known as Nike SB, is the Nike brand for its line of shoes, clothing, and equipment for skateboarding. In 2002, Nike introduced the “SB” brand. The Nike SB Dunk Low model was released, and consisted of padded tongues and collars and the “Zoom Air” insoles; the shoe was more similar to other skate shoe styles than the corporation’s previous attempts. After the SB Dunk’s mediocre sales, Nike released four other models: The Nike SB Angus, Nike SB FC, Nike SB Delta Force, and Nike SB URL.
In 2004, Nike SB signed Paul Rodriguez as a figurehead for the brand and recruited Lewis Marnell as the sole Australian team rider during the same period. In March of that year, Nike released the Nike Dunk SB collection, aimed towards skateboarders in California. The associated shoe designs differed from the previous SB Dunk range in that they were designed specifically for skateboarding. The collection included increased padding, Zoom Air insoles, and enhanced material quality, including triple stitching, a standard for skate shoes.
Nike’s affiliated brands are Converse, Air Jordan, and Hurley.

ABOUT CONVERSE
Converse is an American lifestyle company with a production output that primarily consists of shoes, lifestyle fashion, and athletic apparel. The company has existed since the early 20th century and has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. since 2003.
Their Moto: Converse is Sneakers. And Converse is Change. They started on the court and got adopted on the street. They began as a rubber company to make sneakers and boots, and then found basketball and reinvented the sport. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker became the court sneaker; it stood for the game. From there they moved into other sports with new sneaker silhouettes like the Pro Leather, the Star Player, and the Weapon. The Star Chevron showed up and became another Converse symbol. And just when it seemed to be destined for athletes only – something happened.
Converse sneakers showed up in rock clubs, on the streets, on rappers, on icons, on rebels and originals. It became the sneaker of choice for individuals. From All Star to Jack Purcell to CONS, Converse doesn’t confine itself to one style or definition. Be who you want to be in Converse sneakers or clothes. An artist, rebel, rapper, thinker, gamer, skater, smoke jumper, freelance dentist, whatever. If you’re wearing Converse, you know who you are.

ABOUT AIR JORDAN

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Tadashi Shoji Spring 2015

Tadashi Shoji, the founder and chief designer of the Tadashi Shoji collection was born and raised in Sendai, Japan. He began painting and drawing from a young age and eventually moved to Tokyo, where he studied fine art. His talent was soon recognized and he was recommended for an apprenticeship with Japan’s leading contemporary artist, Jiro Takamatsu, who was credited with paving the way for the modern art movement in Japan during the sixties.

Today, the Tadashi Shoji collection is globally recognized and loved by devoted women ranging from busy working mothers to red carpet gracing celebrities. With his original designs and innovative collections, women regardless of shape or size are inspired to showcase their beauty and walk in confidence. It is this belief that drives Tadashi Shoji and his namesake brand. Employing expert techniques in draping, ruching and shutter pleats, each garment is masterfully tailored to flatter all figures.

For the spring 2015 Collection, Mr. Shoji created intricate detailing paired with playful transparencies. Insets of chain mesh on tulle ornament the bodices and sleeves and multi-colored jeweled embellishments are inspired by Millefiori glass. Sheer mesh necklines give the illusion of floating dresses. Softly sculpted silhouettes are introduced with unexpected twists. A glowing palette of pastels featuring frosted jade, pink shadow, and blue stone with a sprinkle of black floral motif lace are what filled his collection. His collection was soft, sensual, and polished for any woman who loves and is accustomed to Tadashi’s feminine cuts and silhouettes.

World Liberty TV Fashion team was on hand to experience the Tadashi Shoji Spring 2015 Collections.

NYFW: Jill Stuart Spring 2015 Show

Jill Stuart created what she calls “softer dressing” for her Spring 2015 Collection. It included sophisticated silhouettes with a slight A-line shape, kimono inspired wrapping at the waist on dresses, blouse, and skirts. The colors were mostly very light with tones like powered pink, nude, grays, and browns. The collection’s theme reminded me of a modern 70’s woman who doesn’t take things too serious. All in all, the Jill Stuart consumers will be very pleased.

Launched in 1993, Jill Stuart’s eponymous line is said to have really taken off when pieces from the collection were used in the 1995 movie Clueless. Today, the brand earns approximately $30 million annually in the U.S. but fares even better in Asia, grossing closer to $100 million. Stuart received major attention here in 2007 for using Lindsay Lohan as the first non-model celebrity in her ads. Known for showing during Fashion Week at the New York Public Library, the feminine, sometimes frilly collection can be found in her Soho flagship, as well as in higher-end department stores, and has come to include handbags, shoes, and perfume.

In 2007, Stuart launched a secondary line called Jill by Jill Stuart – now exclusive to the Japanese and Korean markets – followed by a lower-priced collection of dresses under the name Jill Jill Stuart in 2010, available at major department stores like Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.

World Liberty TV fashion team had the opportunity to interview Jill Stuart Spring 2015 Collection.

Exclusive interview with Peter Lyon Chairman World Car Awards -2014

At a press conference hosted by the New York International Auto Show and Bridgestone Corporation, the Audi A3 was declared the 2014 World Car of the Year.

Audi is no stranger to our World Car Awards program – now in its 10th year.   Audi has now won a total of seven times, having previously collected the inaugural 2005 World Car of the Year title, three World Performance Car titles in 2010, 2008 and 2007, and two World Car Design of the Year titles in 2008 and 2007.

The Audi A3 was chosen from an initial entry list of twenty-four vehicles from all over the world, then a short list of twelve, then three finalists:  The BMW 4 Series, the Mazda 3 and the Audi A3.

Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, said: “The Audi A6 was the first ever winner of this award and we are delighted that the Audi A3 has repeated that achievement by being voted 2014 World Car of the Year.  The Audi A3 showcases Audi’s technical competence in all aspects of carmaking, not least in the areas of lightweight technology, drivetrain, mobile infotainment and driver assistance systems.  This major award win is an achievement that the whole company can celebrate”.

The World Car Awards jurors observed that, “It might borrow styling hints from its bigger brothers, but the A3 still offers classic, chiseled contours and even better interior trim levels. With a superb choice of engines and 4 body styles, the A3 range packs a hefty premium punch in the small luxury segment. Audi should be complimented for making this A3 ride like no other A3. All the old shimmer over rough surfaces has gone, replaced by a silky smooth ride that approaches limousine quality”.

To be eligible for the overall World Car award, the candidates must become available for sale on at least two continents during the period beginning January 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014.

Vehicles are selected and voted on by an international jury panel comprised of sixty-nine top-level automotive journalists from twenty-two countries around the world.  Each juror was appointed by the World Car Steering Committee on the basis of his or her expertise, experience, credibility, and influence.  Each juror typically drives and evaluates new vehicles on a regular basis as part of their professional work.   Through their respective outlets they collectively reach an audience of many millions world-wide.

Previous World Car of the Year winners are the Volkswagen Golf, the Volkswagen Up! in 2012, the Nissan Leaf in 2011, the Volkswagen Polo in 2010, Volkswagen Golf in 2009, the Mazda2 / Mazda Demio in 2008, the Lexus LS460 in 2007, the BMW 3-Series in 2006, and the Audi A6 in 2005.

NY NOW , (formerly NYIGF®) at NY Javit Center and Pier 94 ( Feb 2014)

Quality was the key measure of success for companies participating in the winter debut of NY NOW™, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®), February 1-6, 2014. Many exhibitors among the market’s total 2,500 reported strong order writing, most notably from new accounts and large retailers, despite two winter storms and the overlap of the 2014 Super Bowl.

“NY NOW had several very strong days of attendance – particularly on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday – and buyers who made it to New York City and to the Market were here to shop,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. “Exhibitors reported seeing their key accounts and making new connections with both domestic and international buyers.”

NY NOW attendees represented all 50 states and 74 countries, with Canada, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, Australia, and the United Kingdom representing the top sources of international visitors. “A lot of international buyers stopped by, and we expanded many connections, not just with the USA, but with the world,” noted first time HANDMADE Designer Maker exhibitor Dominik Kowalik of Dominik Woods. “We are from the west coast and wanted to connect more with the east coast. It’s been really positive.”

Many exhibitors experienced specific days of strong order-writing from quality accounts, which resulted in overall success for the week. “This show has been absolutely fantastic for us,” said HOME Collection exhibitor Kathryn McCoy of Kathryn McCoy Design. “We worked with over 80 stores on Sunday, and Tuesday was non-stop.  This show is tremendous for our business.”

NY NOW LIFESTYLE exhibitor Rachel Clapp of Harry Barker, agreed, “We’ve had a lot of traffic despite the weather. We’ve seen our current customer base as well as new customers and also few international buyers.  It has been a good mix.”

A five-day schedule of educational and social programming supplemented market activities, with more than 40 educational sessions, industry social events, product awards and feature displays. The seminar series, sponsored by industry publications and associations, covered topics such as design and color trends, social media and online marketing, merchandising and retail strategies, and importing. Industry events included the Gift For Life 22nd Anniversary “Party for Life” Fundraiser, the 2014 Housewares Design Awards Gala & Ceremony, and a NY NOW “Night On Broadway,” featuring MOTOWN THE MUSICAL.

Market activities also included recognition of innovative product design through category-specific award programs, including the Baby + Child, Gourmet Housewares, Home Textiles and Personal Care + Wellness Best New Product Awards.  During the Market “People’s Choice” online balloting determined The Savora Colander by Lifetime Brands as Best of HOME, and the Spherovelo By Vici Enterprises as Best of LIFESTYLE.

Lenovo Debuts new Products at CES International Las Vegas 2014

International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) opened in Las Vegas. Lenovo, which grabbed 50 CES innovations awards last year, showed up with 23 all-new models, among which the most attractive were the multi-mode product family represented by convertible PC Yoga 2 Pro and high-end products led by the world’s lightest 14in Ultrabook ThinkPad New X1 Carbon.

Now single-formed devices have been unable to satisfy users’ diverse use demands. From the perspective of enhancing user experience, Lenovo has launched a series of innovative multi-mode products, thus opening up new market space: in the laptop field, Lenovo first launched Yoga 360-degree convertible PC combining flip-open laptop and tablet PC. Yoga 2 Pro exhibited at 2014 International CES was upgraded on the basis of Yoga. Besides four use modes like laptop, stand, tent and tablet, Yoga 2 Pro also provides several control modes like voice, gesture and touch screen, bringing perfect human-machine interactive experience. In appearance, Yoga 2 Pro weighs only 1.39Kg, 10 percent lighter than Yoga and reduces to 15.5mm in thickness. The thin appearance enables you to handle it with only one hand easily. In performance, the industrial top 3200*1800 HD screen refines pictures. Intel’s latest Haswell processor boosts performance while reducing power consumption. The nine-hour duration can satisfy all-day working needs.

In the tablet PC field, Lenovo has taken the lead in renovating the standardized modeling of tablet PC and launched the world’s first multi-mode Yoga tablet PC. Its innovative scroll stand creates three intelligent use modes: reading, standing and touch screen; in the desktop field, upgraded smart desktop – Horizon 2 combines three modes: table PC, digital TV and AIO.

To achieve all-round breakthrough in the high-end market, at 2014 International CES, Lenovo launched new products like Beacon family cloud center bringing all-new family cloud experience through smart connection and wireless sharing, as well as VIBE Z, a flagship smartphone under the high-end smartphone brand–Lenovo VIBE. Among them, ThinkPad New X1 Carbon, tailored to high-end business people and frontier technology professionals, was most eye-catching. Through applications operated by users, New X1 Carbon’s innovative all-new self-adaptive keyboard can perceive user demand, pre-estimate user behavior and switch among multiple keyboard using solutions, thus accomplishing the perfect combination of minimalist design and humanistic experience. With a resolution of 2560*1440, an increase of over 25 percent from the previous edition, the WQHD screen of New X1 Carbon may be rated as luxurious visual configuration, and the 14in screen embedded in the 13in case enhances portability and vision. Also, it reduces to 1.27 kg in weight and 17.72mm in thickness, renewed a record of 14in laptops. Additionally, New X1 Carbon inherits the classic of ThinkPad and can be matched by OneLink dock to extend functions; provides choice of 3G/4G wireless communication; and enhances fingerprint recognition security through NFC (optional); and features “Rapid Charge” with a battery life of 9 hours to better meet users’ work needs.

At 2014 International CES, Lenovo also launched ThinkPad 8, the fastest-ever Win8 convertible PC of the ThinkPad family. The all-new high-performance server, desktop network storage device Lenovo EMC px4-400d, ultra-high-definition 4K display Lenovo ThinkVision Pro2840m, as well as Lenovo Y and Z laptop series and C560 AIO blending elegant design and advanced technologies in personal life have all achieved breakthroughs in innovative design and performance.

Lenovo has maintained strong momentum in recent years and led the global PC market for two consecutive quarters. In the broad sense, Lenovo ranks 2nd in the “PC + tablet PC” field in the world. Also, it has achieved fruitful results in PC+ transition and has become the world’s third-largest smartphone vendor and fourth-largest tablet PC vendor. Lenovo’s appearing at 2014 International CES with a wide variety of multi-mode devices and high-end star products shows its tremendous innovation strength and boosts industrial development.

CES International, World’s largest Show 2014

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest annual consumer technology trade show, which  took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Exhibitors show off their newest gadgets and services, including technology for cars, games, cameras, 3D printers, and smart glasses, at the show.

The year’s event drew a large number of celebrities, including director (and poor public speaker) Michael Bay, Star Trek’s LeVar Burton and several other big names in film, television and music.

“One-third of the world’s population interacted with CES in some way this week, as we experienced the future,” Gary Shapiro, president of the CEA, said in a statement.

And for anyone wondering why a technology show held in the middle of the desert in the U.S. is called the “international” CES, the CEA also revealed that of the 150,000 attendees, about 35,000 (23%) were from outside of the U.S.

CES represents all aspects of the technology ecosystem and brings together leaders from major global industries, as well as policy makers and government officials. The 2014 International CES featured government officials from across the United States and Canada, including three members of the United States House of Representatives, four state elected officials, five members of the Federal Communications Commission, including Chairman Tom Wheeler, and 13 members of the U.S. Department of Commerce, including Secretary Penny Pritzker.

Other representatives from the Federal Trade Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency , the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Federal Aviation Administration were also in attendance.

In addition, governments from outside the U.S. sent leaders including the Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy from France and Vice Minister, International Affairs and Communications from Japan. Ambassadors from the Slovak Republic and Poland also attended this year’s CES.
