    Christ the Redeemer (statue), is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face. The statue is 30 metres (98 ft) tall, not including its 8-metre (26 ft) pedestal, and its arms stretch 28 metres (92 ft) wide.

    The statue weighs 635 metric tons (625 long, 700 short tons), and is located at the peak of the 700-metre (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio. A symbol of Christianity across the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, and is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, and was constructed between 1922 and 1931.

    Located 155 Km from Rio de Janeiro, in the region of the Costa Verde, 365 Islands and more than 50 beaches form one of the most famous bays in Brasil: Angra dos Reis. It carries this name for it was discovered in January 1502, Day of Kings.

    The best program in Angra`s bay is to go on a schooner tour through the Cataguás, Gipóia and Francisco islands. The built-up area of the municipality also has its charms, featuring a rich historical heritage with churches, plazas, mansions and museums.

    We started our Tour of Rio de Janeiro on May 12th till May 17th 2017, our team stayed at the Windsor Excelsior Hotel ,in Copacabana right across the Copacabana beach , one of the best locations one can stay at when going to  Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

    We covered so much here , before anything we like to thank our Tour Guides who took us on tour and was instrumental each step of the way explaining everything very clearly at each destination we stopped by at .Regina Cabral ,from Regina Cabral Turismo Company which you will see throughout  the video.

That’s the official length, but many Brazilians turn it into a 10-day holiday. It brings in about half a million foreign tourists each year. Down Town and Santa Teresa, Guanabara Bay is an oceanic bay located in Southeast Brazil in the state of Rio de Janeiro. On its western shore lies the city of Rio de Janeiro and Duque de Caxias, and on its eastern shore the cities of Niterói and São Gonçalo.

    The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian better known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro or as the Cathedral of St. Sebastian of Rio de Janeiro, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro , Princesa Isabel Avenue , Bota Fogo, Leme  and many many more locations.

    As New York prepares to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup, Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry hosted a street co-naming ceremony on Wednesday, June 10 honoring global soccer legend Pelé, one of the most influential athletes in sports history.

    The ceremony officially unveiled “Pelé Way” in Council District 21 and served as the kickoff to a week of celebrations recognizing the cultural, economic, and community impact of the world’s game in the World’s Borough.

    The event featured community leaders, soccer advocates, and elected officials.

    The Pelé Way co-naming is part of a broader effort to celebrate the sport’s legacy while showcasing Queens as a destination for World Cup visitors.

    With the tournament projected to generate $3.3 billion in economic activity and attract 1.2 million visitors, local leaders hope the celebration will encourage fans to explore Queens, support local businesses, and further cement the borough’s role as a gateway for the world’s game.

    “The world’s game belongs in the World’s Borough,” said Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry. “As New York prepares to welcome visitors from across the globe, it is only fitting that we honor one of soccer’s greatest icons.

    Pelé’s legacy transcends the sport, bringing people together across cultures and generations. ‘Pelé Way’ celebrates that legacy and the diversity, community, and opportunity that define Queens.”

    In collaboration with Council Member Virginia Maloney, who hosted a separate co-naming ceremony honoring soccer icon Thierry Henry at Rockefeller Center, the events celebrate two global legends whose impact continues to shape the sport and inspire communities around the world.

    “Soccer is more than just a sport. It has the power to unite people across cultures, languages, and generations,” said Council Member Virginia Maloney.

    “Pelé and Thierry Henry are titans of the game who have shaped not only the history of the sport but the cultures and communities it touches.

    As fans from every corner of the globe come to our doorstep for the FIFA World Cup, co-naming these streets in their honor ensures every New Yorker feels that excitement in their own neighborhoods and on their own streets.”

    “As New York City prepares to welcome the world for the World Cup, it is fitting that we honor one of the greatest athletes and global ambassadors the sport has ever known,” said Speaker Julie Menin. “Pelé’s impact transcended soccer.

    He inspired generations, brought people together across borders and cultures, and helped make the beautiful game a truly global phenomenon. I thank Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry for her leadership in bringing this tribute to Queens, and for helping showcase the World’s Borough as a place where the world comes together.”

    With the World Cup bringing unprecedented excitement to The World’s Borough, its only right that Queens gets into the soccer spirit by honoring one of the beautiful game’s greatest pioneers,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.

    “Generations of Queens’s residents love this sport because of Pelé, and we hope his legacy of success on the pitch and his philanthropy off the pitch continues to inspire as we all gather to watch the World Cup over the next month.”

    “New York City has a rich soccer history, from generations of fans and communities who have built the game here to legendary figures like Pelé, who helped make this city part of soccer’s global story,” said Jennifer O’Sullivan, New York City FC COO.

    “As our city prepares to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup, it is fitting that the World’s Borough honors one of the greatest players the sport has ever known.

    With Etihad Park opening next year as New York City’s first soccer-specific stadium, Pelé Way connects that remarkable legacy to an exciting new chapter for soccer in Queens.”

    Pelé, a three-time FIFA World Cup champion with Brazil, is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in history.

    Beyond his accomplishments on the field, he served as a global ambassador for the sport and a symbol of soccer’s power to connect people across cultures and generations.

    About Pelé : Pelé is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in the history of soccer. A three-time FIFA World Cup champion with Brazil and former player of the New York Cosmos, he helped elevate the sport to a global stage and became a symbol of excellence, sportsmanship, and international unity.

    To kick off the start of FIFA World Cup 2026™, Governor Kathy Hochul and the NYNJ Host Committee today highlighted activations across New York State to ensure New Yorkers in every community get to enjoy the World Cup.

    From statewide watch parties to reduced bus fares and launching NY Kicks to ensure lasting impact, the Governor and the NYNJ Host Committee have taken steps to deliver a more accessible FIFA World Cup 2026™ experience.

    Today’s event marked the official opening of the NYNJ World Cup 26 Group Stage HQ at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center which will be free to all.

    “The time has finally come to welcome the 2026 FIFA World Cup to New York and I could not be more proud of the work we have done to bring the celebrations to every corner of our state,” Governor Hochul said.

    “From increased hours for bars and restaurants to reduced bus fares, we are committed to working with partners across the state to make sure everyone can participate in the festivities in a way that is fun, safe and accessible throughout the duration of the tournament.”

    NYNJ Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry said, “From day one, Governor Hochul has approached the World Cup as an opportunity that should benefit every New Yorker.

    Whether it’s making transportation more affordable, creating free fan experiences across the state, expanding access to tickets for working families, or investing in soccer facilities that will serve communities long after the Final, she has consistently focused on ensuring this tournament leaves a lasting impact.

    The World Cup is finally here, and thanks to the Governor’s leadership, New Yorkers will have opportunities to celebrate, participate, and be part of this historic moment.”

    You can come and enjoy the festivities, and so much activities, and we have to thank our Great Governor, Mayor, and many more people to make this possible for all of us.

    The first game was played in Mexico, and it was against, Mexico VS South Africa, which

    Mexico won by 2 goals.
