22nd Annual 1st Responders Children’s Foundation Thanksgiving Day Breakfast

Tomorrow is our 22nd annual Thanksgiving Day Breakfast & Parade celebration! It’s a day when we express gratitude to first responders and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and year-round service to their communities.

This year promises even more excitement as we introduce our Family Fun Festival, adding an extra thrill to this cherished tradition. Before the parade officially begins, kids of all ages and their parents will delight in entertainment, games, toy giveaways, and much more!

Thanks to our incredible partners at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Jazwares, and Fox News Media each child in attendance will receive a brand-new toy to take home!

Continuing a 22-year tradition, the First Responders Children’s Foundation Thanksgiving Day Breakfast welcomes families who have endured the loss of a loved one in the line of duty to enjoy an up-close view of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It is also a day when we express gratitude to first responders and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and year-round service to their communities.

This year promises even more excitement as we introduce our 40th Street Family Fun Festival, opening at 7:00 am, adding an extra thrill to this cherished tradition. Before the parade officially begins, kids of all ages and their parents will delight in entertainment, games, toy giveaways, and much more!

Thanks to our incredible partners at Build-A-Bear, Jazwares, and FOX each child in attendance will receive a brand-new toy to take home, embodying the spirit of giving that defines this holiday.

The event is offered completely free of charge to first responder families and their children, thanks to generous donors and sponsorships.

Attendees included:  New York Fire Department Chief Fire Marshall Daniel Flynn, Port Authority Police Superintendent Edward Cetnar, Joe Hinrichs , President and CEO CSX, Matthew McCauley, partner Turken,Heath and McCauley LLP, Mateo Lizcano, star of  the hit Broadway show “Dear Evan Hansen”, First Responders Children’s Foundation President and CEO Jillian Crane and founder and Chairman Al Kahn.

The Food Network (NYCWFF)NYC Wine & Food Festival-2023

The Food Network New York City Wine and Food Festival presented by Capital One (NYCWFF) is New York City’s premier culinary event.

The Festival will celebrate 16 years this October 12-15, 2023, with more than 80+ events and over 500 chefs from around the world. A variety of tastings, seminars, intimate dinners, late-night parties and more will take place at locations across the city.

100% of the Festival’s net proceeds will continue to support God’s Love We Deliver, the New York City metropolitan area’s only provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling for individuals living with severe illness.

“For this year’s sweet 16, there’s more opportunities than ever for fans and industry experts to unite and celebrate,” said Festival Founder and Director Lee Brian Schrager.

“We have an incredible ensemble of talent, showcasing today’s top chefs, culinary and lifestyle personalities. We’re also pleased to share new, not-to-be-missed events like The Cookout, an homage to Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary that harmoniously blends New York’s most ingenious chefs conjuring their signature flavors alongside performances from the genres most iconic figures.”

In honor of Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Festival’s official closing party will be a cookout MCed by Tamron Hall Emmy award-winning host of the Tamron Hall Show and Angela Yee from Power 105.1’s Way Up with Yee.

Presented by Bacardi, guests can look forward to feature performances by DJ CASSIDY, DJ MICK and 90s icons and Grammy award-winners Rev Run and Ice-T. The culinary offerings are curated by James Beard award winning chef JJ Johnson who has hand selected some of most talented Black chefs in New York to showcase their skills.

The fan-favorite event makes its return to Hudson River Park’s Pier 76 where a sprawling 245,000 sq. ft. outdoor area will be transformed into a gastronomic wonderland showcasing hundreds of winemakers and distillers from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio. Those looking to learn from today’s top content creators about the latest trends and engage in thought-provoking discussions on the intersection of food, culture and tech should grab tickets to FoodieCon® presented by Instagram.

NYC Comic Con “Sold Out “-2023

New York Comic Con is the East Coast’s largest pop culture convention and the only one that takes place in the comic book, publishing, media, and licensing capital of the world — Gotham City.

There are a number of comic book shows around the country and even around New York City. New York Comic Con is ONLY affiliated with C2E2, Emerald City Comic Con, and Florida Supercon.

We do not run, do not staff, and are not part of any other comic conventions in the US. New York Comic Con is a ReedPop show.

New York Comic Con’s main campus is the Javits Center located at 429 11th Ave in NYC. This is where you’ll find Will Call/Registration, the Show Floor, Artist Alley, panels, and much more.

New York Comic Con 2023 has finally arrived and this article will gather all the biggest announcements from the show to ensure you don’t miss a thing.

New York Comic Con (NYCC) is the biggest comic and pop culture event on the East Coast. From meeting celebrities to surprise appearances, to comic creators from every corner of the globe to the top anime, cosplay, and gaming stars … it’s always one hell of a 4-day weekend.

The New York Comic Con is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to Western comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, cosplay, toys, movies, and television. It was first held in 2006. With an attendance of 200,000 in 2022, it is North America’s most attended fan convention.

The New York Comic Con is a for-profit event produced and managed by ReedPop, a division of RX and Reed Elsevier, and is not affiliated with the long running non-profit San Diego Comic-Con, nor the Big Apple Convention.

Later known as the Big Apple Comic-Con, owned by Wizard Entertainment. ReedPop is involved with other events, including Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) and PAX Dev/PAX East/PAX Prime. ReedPop and New York Comic Con were founded by Greg Topalian, former senior vice president of RX.

It was a great experience, where you meet many fans, who are into comics, TV Shows, Celebrities and many more.

I must have met close to 50 Batman, 10 Jokers, 10 Ironmen, 20 Spiderman, 30 Wonder woman and so many more characters in attendance. It’s a great event I always enjoy it.

Taking place Saturday, September 30 through Tuesday, October 3, the largest toy show in the Western Hemisphere has been reimagined for 2023 to feature more exciting experiences and insights than ever before, while maintaining its legacy as the place to spot the latest innovations in play.

Toy Fair continues to be a vital marketplace, and the proof is in the numbers – in 2020, the show hosted 890 exhibitors, and that number has grown to 1,021 for 2023.

National Supermarket Associations, International Trade Show

“Two Day’s” NSA INTERNATIONAL SALES & TRADE SHOW 2023. The NSA International Sales & Trade Show organized by the National Supermarket Association, the event attracts companies seeking to showcase and sell their products and services to buyers from the independent supermarket sector.

The event offers a unique opportunity to interact with supermarket owners and managers.

NSA welcomes all vendors, brokers, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, food managers, supermarket owners, importers, merchandisers, advertising agencies, distributors, and trade association officials.

The trade show is not open to the general public, only to companies and individuals affiliated to the food industry.

Those companies seeking to establish or improve their relationship with 600+ independent supermarkets in the East Coast. The NSA Sales and Trade Show will focus on current and new international, national, regional, and local companies looking to serve the independent supermarket industry.

Founded in 1989 by Hispanic entrepreneurs, the NSA is a trade association that represents the interest of independent supermarket owners in New York and other urban cities throughout the East coast, Mid-Atlantic region and Florida.

Beginning in the mid-seventies, these entrepreneurs had the courage of opening supermarkets in areas abandoned by the large chains, as they were economically depressed and mostly minority neighborhoods.

These men and women had the vision and the commitment to fill a vacuum in those communities, at a time when the term “food desert” had not even been coined. Currently, many NSA members continue to serve those areas by offering healthy foods and full service supermarkets.

The association has grown dramatically in the last two decades and currently provides its members hands on representation in both the private and public sectors and advocates issues that impact the entire supermarket industry.

Current membership represents approximately 600 supermarkets. Most members are of Hispanic descent, and their stores are predominantly located in minority neighborhoods.

The NSA provides outreach services to corporations that want to capture the booming Hispanic market by providing counseling on marketing strategies to reach Hispanic retailers and consumers, including market and cultural intelligence.

The National Supermarket Association Scholarship Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist those students within the local communities in which our member stores are located. Through education we are Empowering our communities for a brighter future.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.

Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

The NSA organization created a Legislative Committee that advocates and lobbies for its members while also reporting back with all events, bills, laws, and news that affects the members and their business.

The NSA Legislative Committee works hard on solving issues in our communities we serve while also making sure that the members are not affected in a way that would be detrimental to their business operations, growth, and existence

NSA Cares is our initiative designed to partnering with charitable organizations in the different communities served by our members.

As established by our founders, the National Supermarket Association (NSA) has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the community.

Through the promise of NSA Cares, each year, we will reaffirm our commitment to strengthening our corporate social responsibility with the many communities served by our members.

It was a well-attended event, vendors in attendance throughout the USA, South American, North American and Central American companies in attendance. Thousands of people in attendance doing business and to sell their products to the Latin Communities.

Some of the big Company’s included; Porky’s, Goya foods, Coco Cola, PepsiCo and many more.

Honored guest who attended was Mariano Rivera, A thirteen-time All-Star and five-time World Series champion and Hall of Famer with the Legendary Yankee’s. Mr. Rivera, visited many vendors, shook hands, took pictures and offered words of encouragement to many of the vendors in attendance.

Exclusive interview with Teofimo lopez, 2 Time World Boxing Champion-2023

We had the pleasure of interviewing, Teofimo at the NY Press conference for Spence VS Crawford mega fight taking place on July 29th 2023, at Las Vegas.

 Teófimo Andrés López Rivera Jr. is an American professional boxer. He was born on July 30, 1997, and is 24 years old. Currently, he is a unified lightweight world champion who has held the IBF title since 2019. He also holds the WBA (Super), WBO, and The Ring magazine titles after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko in 2020. He also represented Honduras at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York and started training at the age of 6. He is ranked the world’s fifth-best active boxer by ESPN and the Boxing Writers Association of America. He is also the winner of the 2015 National Golden Gloves and U.S Olympic Trials.

He had become 2 Time world boxing champion by beating Josh Taylor for the Junior Welterweight WBO and Ring Boxing belts.

He went on to tell us his fight with George Kambosos, at lightweight, was very draining for him and that he was not able to make the weight anymore at 135, so he moved up to 140.

Where he went to say that, he is feeling good. He also went on to say that he is retiring, because he is making more money outside boxing. He said he wants 3-4 fight multimillion dollar fights, or it’s not worth fighting anymore.

Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. VS Terence “Bud” Crawford Mega Fight-2023

Undefeated boxing superstars and pound-for-pound greats Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and Terence “Bud” Crawford verbally sparred and provoked the other with sharp and sometimes comical one-liners during a lively press conference Wednesday in New York to preview their clash for the undisputed welterweight championship on Saturday, July 29 in a SHOWTIME PPV (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas headlining a Premier Boxing Champions event.

“I’m the biggest (fish). He’s not catching me with no damn fishing pole,” Spence said, continuing the war of metaphors with Crawford, who promised to “gut” Spence in the ring. “He better come with a submarine. I’m the biggest shark. You ain’t catching Moby Dick with a fishing pole.”

“Fish fillet,” Crawford responded. “I like to go fishing,” he said at another point. “Everyone knows that’s my hobby.”

The unified WBC, WBA and IBF Champion Spence and WBO champion Crawford completed back-to-back, coast-to-coast press conferences in Times Square as they near their long anticipated clash to crown the first undisputed welterweight world champion in the four-belt era.

The press conferences in Beverly Hills and New York City can be watched on Wednesday streamed live on two giant outdoor LED video displays on billboards overlooking Times Square, the first time that SHOWTIME® has ever live-streamed a boxing press event atop a billboard in Midtown Manhattan.

Spence vs. Crawford will be highlighted by three episodes of the Emmy® Award-winning series ALLACCESS from SHOWTIME Sports with ALLACCESS: SPENCE VS. CRAWFORD Episode One premiering on Saturday, July 8 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and Episode Two debuting on Saturday, July 15 at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT with an Epilogue days after the fight.

Here is what the press conference participants had to say Wednesday from the Palladium Times Square:

ERROL SPENCE JR.This is the biggest fight in boxing. When you look at your styles, and know our mentalities, you know neither of us are gonna want to break. I feel like someone is gonna break on fight night.

“I’m ready to show people that I’m one of the best welterweights of all time. Don’t miss this fight. Because I’m gonna show everyone why I’m breaking people.

“I’ve done everything that I said I was gonna do. The last thing left to do is beat Terence Crawford. He’s a great fighter, but I’m gonna break him and show everyone why I’m the best fighter in boxing, period.

“All the titles I took; I took them from the champions. You line ‘em up, I’m gonna knock ‘em down. It doesn’t matter what happens, I get the job done.

“He can show what he wants to show. He might go on and do his thing after I beat him and prove he’s an all-time great. But he can stop that nonsense because I’m winning on July 29.

“We have to show these other fighters that there are rewards in taking risks. The best have to fight the best.”

TERENCE CRAWFORD: “This is a fight that’s been marinating. This is greatness that you’re going to see on July 29. I’ve been preparing my whole life for this moment. Moments like these don’t come often, and this is my time.

“July 29 I can assure you, you’re gonna walk away and say, ‘Terence Crawford is special.’ You’re gonna mark me down as one of the greatest of all time.

“I rise to the occasion when I have the odds stacked against me. I’m a fan of Errol, but this is business. I see myself beating him. I’ve visualized it numerous times before.

“I like to go fishing. Everyone knows that’s my hobby. They’ve all been caught before. Every last one of them. I got a big enough hook for Errol. We actually already caught him, and we’re reeling him in right now.

Being undisputed is gonna mean everything to me. July 29 you’re gonna see a Terence Crawford that you’ve never seen before. Errol may bring the best out of me.”

DERRICK JAMES, Spence’s Trainer: “I can’t wait. Everyone has been hoping to see this. I know that Crawford is coming with his ‘A game’ and Errol will be on his ‘A game.’ You’re gonna see a phenomenal competition. Now, it’s work time. We’re gonna be who we are. Put the pressure on, break him down and win the fight.”

BRIAN “BO MAC” MCINTYRE, Crawford’s Trainer:  “This is how the fight is gonna go. It’s gonna be tough. Real tough. I tip my hat to what Errol has accomplished. The first couple of rounds will be tough, but then we’re gonna start walking away with the fight, like we always do. We’ve stopped the last 10 opponents, and Errol might be number 11.”

TOM BROWN, President of TGB Promotions: This fight is really as big as it gets. We have the best two fighters in the world, unbeaten and in their prime. We haven’t seen fighters with skills like this since Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns.”
